The rest of the day went as strange for Samuel, having gained knowledge that his best friend had somehow gotten a date from a woman. Issei told him that the woman was named Yuuma and that she just confessed to him out of nowhere. Sam tried to think of where he might've heard that name but he kept drawing up a blank. He'll have to think about it later, he needed to head back to the Church. Samuel had sprinted up in full speed after saying goodbye to Issei, running nearly as a complete blur passed bystanders and even out running a few cars.
Sammy arrived at the Church in a timely manner and walked through the front gates before heading to the front door. The building had a big interior with several rows of seats, glass panels that nearly went up to the roof and the altar at the very front. Samuel looked around to see if anyone was in the open but he didn't see Sister Alice or Father Donathan around. But he did notice a figure in the first row of seats, a little boy around ten years old with short brown hair and purple eyes. He was wearing a moss green vest over a light purple, long-sleeved shirt and grey pants. He also wears brown shoes with light brown socks.
"Haruto?"
Haruto Speigel was one of the orphans that are often left among the stairs of the Church, he was Samuel's younger 'brother' and a bit of a hard head. Haruto turned his head and saw that Sam was behind him which caused him to jump to his feet before running towards him. The young child jumped into his arms and held onto him as if his life depended on it. Sam wrapped his arm around Haruto, just realizing that the young male was shaking uncontrollably.
"What's wrong Otōto?"
"It's the Church." Father Donathan walked behind the pair, dressed in his usual robes as a man of faith and leader of this holy building. The man was middle aged with short grey hair and had a goatee as well. His clothing consists of a long, black robe with a wide, white band at the hem and cuffs. There's also a high-collared, white mantle and a gold necklace with a cross. The Father came to a stop right next to them and placed a hand onto Samuel's shoulder, giving it a firm yet gentle squeeze.
"Sam, I got a note in the mail this morning. The Mayor is thinking of closing down the Church to save tax money."
Those words broke Samuel's mind, body, & spirit at the same time while Haruto had clenched harder onto the older boy's body. The mayor was considering closing down the church to save tax money?! Why? Why did that idiot even think that an idea of such stupidity would be good? If he closed down the Church then the children wouldn't have anywhere to go nor will Father or Sister.
"B-But you've done so much! This Church was completely abandoned until you came along! You did so much and now that... t-that...." Samuel was seething in rage, he wanted to head over to the Mayor's office to punch the man in the face. His thoughts were broken when he felt pressure on his shoulder and returned his attention to Father Donathan.
"I know that look Sam. I've seen it too many times, please calm before you do something drastic. A building can be replaced but losing a son is something no father wants."
Those words put him at ease, if only a little but the anger was still there in his heart. He needed to step out or else he was going to blow a fuse and didn't want Haruto to see him lose it. With a heavy heart, he handed off his younger brother to the Father and slowly walked out of the building with a solemn look. The elder gave his 'son' one last look before looking away, his own heart forming cracks for watching his child slip into sadness.
[Middle of Kuoh - 9:29 pm]
No thoughts.
No feelings.
No motivation.
Just empty.
That was all Samuel had this point, nothing but the feeling of cold and emptiness within his very heart. His home, his family.... was going to lose it all because some corrupted idiot wanted to spend a little less money. Sam was bottling so many emotions in himself that he was afraid to even look at another person or else the young man would lash out. He had no destination as he kept walking until he reached an open area, a fountain in the middle that was releasing clean water. He was familiar with this fountain as he often came here with either Issei or his 'family' from the church.
He heard some noises and looked to see Issei was here, along with some girl he never saw before. She must've been the one that Issei was talking about that had confessed her love to him. Yuuma was rather attractive with her violet eyes, silky smooth black hair and having a slender body. Her clothing was her school uniform, which consisted of a dark red jacket with the letter "P" embroidered in gold, a white undershirt, a red bow, and a green skirt with a thin white stripe around the lower end of it. Sam had to admit that he was happy that his best friend had found someone that actually liked him and the date seemed to be going well.
"Would you die for me?"
Wait, what? That's when the air suddenly became cold with Yuuma suddenly shredding her clothing and releasing some kind of aura. The girl was now wearing a rather revealing & erotic style of clothing that Sam believe both Father and sister would disapprove of. She now wear black, strap-like objects around and under her breasts, a thong-like piece held around her hips by three thin straps, gloves that ran right up her arms with small lengths of chains hanging from them, shoulder guard-like objects on her shoulders with three large spikes sprouting from her right shoulder, and black thigh-high heel boots. Not only that both Yuuma also seemed to have gotten a little bit older as her eyes gained a darker look to them.
Before anyone could gain a sense of themselves, Yuuma had created a spear of light in her hand and thrown it at Issei which pierced through his stomach. Sam couldn't do anything but watch as his best friend fell to his knees and coughed up blood. Clinching at the open wound in his stomach, blood quickly escaping out that Issei was trying desperately to keep in. When reality came back slammed into Sam, the young man quickly bolted forward and into the scene that surprised both parties.
"Issei! Holy sh*t man, hang on!"
He was panicking, hyperventilating while trying his best to stop the blood from pouring out his friend's stomach. Issei tried to form words but all that came out was blood and choking. This was the most horrifying thing that Sam has ever experienced and what made it worse is the fact that Yuuma chick was beginning to... laugh?
"Hahahahaha, oh I'm sorry but were you two friends? I never knew that the pervert had someone else beside his two little idiots that always hangout near the girls lockers. It must be sad to have been so close to him. Or rather it is sad to see someone who you may or may not consider a friend dying in front of you."
He was angry, so angry that his fists were clenched and jaw locked tight in a grim that threatened to break all of his teeth. Life seemed to always want to use him as it's own little play thing. First he learns that his home is closing down and Samuel will lose his family. Now, his best friend was literally choking on his own blood and this.... monster.... was laughing.
".... Kill....."
"I'm sorry, what was that?~"
"I'm going to kill you..."
((Wow, violent. Welp that is it for this chapter. See ya in the next one!))
