Chapter 38: Helping friends

Oobleck: *over the broadcaster's system* "And victory goes to Penny and Nigel of Atlas!"

Penny placing a fist in her palm and bowing in respect of her fallen foes, while Nigel take off his yellow face mask and in his hand bows as well.

Both: "Thank you for a wonderful time."

 The two victors turn to leave the stadium as their opponent feebly reaches out, only to get hit in the head by a errant stone.

Watching from the stands, Ruby Rose sees them start to walk away and excitedly gets up from her seat with the rest of her team to meet them at one of the exits. Team (F/I).NEM also joining them.

Ruby: *catching up and spreading her arms as she calls out* "PENNY! NIGEL!"

Penny and Nigel: "Ruby!" *Penny lifting up her own arms, she tackles her friend into a hug that leaves them both of them on the ground* 

Ruby: *grunts, then groans weakly* "Why..."

Penny gets up as Nigel picks Ruby up before falling over like his sister. Ruby blushes hard both getting up.

Penny: *gestures to the other girl behind them* "Ruby, this is my teammate."

Ciel: "Ciel Soleil" *bows formally*

Ruby: *raises her hand in gretting* "Hi! I'm Ru-"

Ciel: "Ruby Rose. 15. Hails from Patch. Leader of Team RWBY. Status: Questionable."

Y/n: "Ciel Soleil. age 17. Hail from Atlas.  Leader of Team CPN the first three man team. Status: Questionable."

The others looks at him (except from his team) with a questionable look. 

Y/n: "What? You didn't think I wouldn't get info all the teams."

Neo: *shrugs to them* "That's just hubby for you."

Ruby: *silent for a second* "So Penny! Nigel!" *turning back to he friend* "You two were incredible out there. How do you keep control of all those swords? It's so cool!"

Y/n: *looks at Nigel and puts his hand on his shoulder* "So how you been? Sorry about yesterday, Mercury is a moron when it comes to cooking."

Mercury: "Hey! I'm not that stupid."

Neo: "YOU THOUGHT A GRENADE WAS A FUCKING POTATO!"

Emerald: *awkward tone* "Yeah...you aren't going to trusted in the kitchen....ever..."

Mercury looks down in defeat.

Nigel: "smiles* "It's alright! Friend Y/n!"

Ciel: "Penny? Nigel?" *looks at her watch and gestures at it* "I believe it is best if we move on to our location."

Penny: *exchange a look with Ruby before asking Ciel* "Could we have just a minute to talk?"

In response, Ciel checks the time, then takes a step back and nods, starting the countdown.

Ruby: "So is she... your friend or...."

Penny: "Well, in a way. She's like Blake, but if Blake was ordered to spend time with you."

Emerald: "Oh. so, Weiss."

Nigel: "Um I guess."

Ruby: *lowering her voice* "Does she know about... y'know... beep boop bop, does not compute?" *moves her body abruptly as if imitating a robot, leaving her arm to hang with a noticeable squeaking sound.*

Nigel: *shaking his head* "Oh no. General Ironwood doesn't really want anyone to know. There was an incident with a magnet, but we were able to play it off."

Flashback to the Vytal Festival grounds with Ciel, Nigel and Penny, who's wearing a large sun hat. The wind picks up and lifts the hat from her hair, revealing the aforementioned magnet on her skull, and Penny quickly shoves the headgear back on before Ciel turns back around. The story causes Ruby and Penny to laugh about it in the present for several seconds.

Y/n: "Wait...what about-?" *looks down at Nigel and see where the magnet was* "Oh...."

Penny: *still smiling, but getting serious* "Ruby, there's something we've been wanting to talk to you about" *glances over at Ciel before leaning in and whispering to Ruby* "We want to stay at Beacon."

Ruby: *looking troubled by the news* "Penny, they'll never let you do that."

Nigel: *frowns with Penny, but then grins with mischief* "I know I have a plan." *looks at Y/n* "You know what you must do."

Y/n: *nods* "Right..." *looks at Neo and Emerald who nods as well*

Ciel: *stepping back up to Penny's and Nigel's side and pointing at her watch* "It's been precisely one minute, ma'am."

'Penny': "I'll talk to you more soon, Ruby."

'Nigel': "See you later, Y/n."

As they were about to walk away Y/n turns and tail slams 'Nigel' into a nearby dust container which explodes. 'Nigel' screams as he is launched to like a missile. 

'Penny': "NIGEL NOOOOOOOOOO!!" *She runs off to the distance to  get 'Nigel'*

Ciel: "Damn it not again..." She runs after Penny to help her team mate. Leaving Y/n's team and Ruby. Y/n looks next to Ruby, 'Yang' and 'Weiss'

Y/n: "Welp you two better get to your match."

Yang and Weiss nods and quiet run off somewhere.

Port: *coming back over the stadium stadium speakers to announce* "The next match will begin in 15 minutes!"

Ruby: *suddenly looking really excited as she clasps her hands together* "Oh my gosh, that's right! It's time for Yang's and Weiss' match." *Ruby runs off Y/n, Neo, Emerald and Mercury follow her.*

Mercury: "I can't believe that work."

Emerald: "Yeah, I'm surprise they fell for that.:

Neo: "That was nice of you Hubby."

Y/n: "Heh of course"

As  the 'Yang' and 'Weiss' head to a nearby alleyway. They see Roman and Cinder in the corner smiling at them. They let them inside and when inside 'Yang' and 'Weiss' take off the mask on their face. The clothing shifts as it is reveals to be Penny and Nigel smiling. Roman and Cinder give the two android a handshake'

"What are friends for?"
