Season 2 Chapter 7
-Let's Celebrate-
Y/n POV
My phone buzzed as it crawled its way across my nightstand. Sleepily, I slapped my hand multiple times over the nightstand until it found the buzzing phone. My eyes slowly opened into a squint to see who it was that was calling. Jennie. I took a sleepy breath, collapsed on my back, and answered.
"Y/n! Guess what? Hwang is gonna use your beats for our comeback! Since nothing was announced, she's going to scrap what we already did and redo the whole album!" Jennie said excitedly through the phone.
"Yeah, that's nice..." I responded with a yawn.
"Oppa! We're using YOUR instrumentals!" She clarified.
It finally hit me what she was saying and I sprung up in my bed. "Wait, are you serious?"
"Yes! It will take a few weeks to get everything through and your check cut, but she wants you to email her to work out an agreement!" Her excitement was still very much present in her voice. "It will just be like a freelancer contracted job, but it should get you in the door!"
"I can't believe this... you actually convinced her to use my work?"
"I told you she could see your potential. Not as much as I can, but enough to have you on board." I could hear the smile she wore as she talked.
"So, is there anything else I have to do other than emailing her?" I asked.
"That's it. She'll contact you if she needs anything else from you. Also, since you're close enough to us, we may even come to hang out so you can produce songs that fit us better!" Her excitement still blasting through the phone.
"That's great. We should celebrate, then." I suggested since I knew that she would want to.
"Yes! We absolutely have to!" She agreed. "I'll start preparing. Is your place okay for tonight?"
"Yeah, I guess we can have a small get together here." I surrendered with a chuckle.
"Good! I'll order some chicken and we'll stop at the store on the way over to get some drinks. Don't worry. No alcohol. Have to make it Chuchu-friendly!" The plans just kept coming from her.
"Okay, well I'm gonna get myself woken up. I know you guys still have some schedules to do." I reasoned with another yawn.
"Okay, Oppa. Love you. Bye-bye!"
I opened my mouth to respond, but I was thrown off by myself and she had hung up before I even knew what to say.
Jennie POV
What on earth was I thinking?! Why did I say that?! He's gonna think I'm a creep! I looked over to see the other three laughing at me.
"You really told him you loved him." Jisoo teased, making Lisa laugh so hard she doubled over.
"Shut up! It just... came out!"
"I think it's cute," Chaeyoung giggled. "You should have a real talk with him about it. See where he stands on it too. You just have to be careful. You know how stressful we already are with our career as is."
"Speaking of that, can I talk to you for a minute?" Jisoo asked as her laughter calmed down.
I nodded and followed her into my room. I sat on my bed and she sat on my desk chair. The room grew a bit more serious than it had when I slipped up on the phone as Jisoo seemed to collect her thoughts.
"I'm sorry for laughing and teasing you." She started. "Do you really love him?"
"Um... I think I actually might. I guess there's no reason to try and hide it, especially after I kind of slipped up on the phone..." I admitted.
"Look, I'm not gonna tell you to not go for it. But, you know what it will mean." She continued. "You'll have to hide it from the company and fans. It will affect your mental health and your stress."
"I know, Unnie. It will be extremely hard and there will be so many ups and so many more downs. I know the risks of the things that could split us up." The mood sort of dropped.
"Just promise that you will be careful and you won't let it affect the group." She said with a smile. "Just know that we and the staff have your back."
"Thanks, Unnie," I said with a smile and got up to hug her. "I love you, guys."
"We know. We love you too." She responded. "You should have a talk with him when we have our party. Good news on top of good news."
"You know what?" I replied with a smile. "I think I will."
"Manager-nim is here, guys!" Lisa yelled from the living room.
Me and Jisoo hugged again and then left the room to get ready to leave so we could finish our schedule and go shopping to get the things for the party. Unfortunately, the schedule that we had left was photo shoots. Something none of us were really fond of anymore. They were just boring and usually meant we were being used for something or it was for a comeback that we honestly don't care for because it was all too obvious the company no longer cared.
Even though this time Y/n was gonna be our producer, the rest of the process was still annoying. Then we have to deal with fans only caring about the numbers and then we have to pretend that we care about them.
Sometimes I just feel like it's not worth it anymore... I keep thinking more and more about settling down with Y/n, or just leaving the industry...
Y/n POV
"Chuchu!" I yelled from the kitchen.
"What's up?" Chunhei asked, coming into the kitchen.
"The girls are coming over soon to celebrate. Can you help me clean up a little and get the kitchen ready for a few extra people?"
"Sure! What are we celebrating?"
"They convinced Hwang to use my beats for their next comeback. They're going to be redoing all the music and everything since they hadn't even started recording their music video." I explained.
"No way! My Oppa is a producer now?!" She said with just as much excitement as Jennie.
"Okay, come on. Let's get the kitchen prepared." I shooed her off to have her help.
We quickly began to clean up the kitchen. I started by finishing the dishes that were there in the sink while Chunhei made sure all the dishes that needed to be cleaned were brought to the sink. After she did, she started drying the dishes and putting them away. Once that was finished, she began wiping off all the countertops and the table while I swept and mopped. While the floor dried, we got the center leaf for the table and a few more chairs. Once the floor dried, we set them up and got out the good chopsticks.
The Blackpink girls finally arrived with a bunch of take out and a huge ice cream cake. Chunhei helped them get the things in and tackled Jennie with a hug. I got plates from the cupboards and passed them out around the table for each of us.
"Hey, Y/n. Can I talk with you for a moment?" Jennie asked. "We can get some food and talk in the living room."
"Uh, sure," I said feeling a bit confused.
