I love you

Eddie's POV:

I lay upside down with my head on the floor and feet on Richie's lap, who was sitting on the couch.
"Eddie, you're gonna break your neck." He said, playing with my feet.
"Since when did you care about health?" I asked, raising an eyebrow, not that he could see.

"I care when it comes to you." He replied, tickling my feet. I squealed and rolled of the couch.
"Ow!" I exclaimed, rubbing my elbow which hit the table.

Richie laughed. I sat up and got down on the sofa next to him. "That hurt!" I whined, trailing my finger over his leg.

He giggled and I leaned my head on his shoulder, smiling. His laugh was beautiful. Soft and light, joyful.

I started to trace my finger on his neck and Richie leaned his head on mine, humming quietly. "Do you sing?" I asked suddenly, sitting up causing him to sit up straight too.

"Wh-why do you ask?" He replied, flustered. I shrugged.
"Just curious." Richie took my hand in his and drew circles in my palm. "Do you?" I repeated, genuinely intrigued.

"I mean yeah but like not in front of people..." his voice trailed of as he spoke and his cheeks went a shade of red.

"I bet you would be amazing!" I replied, happily. A moment passed and I decided to drop the subject, seeming he didn't want to talk about it.

"Hey eds," Richie said, glancing up at me.
"Yeah?"
"You wanna go on a date?"
"Wow, smooth." I replied, giggling.
"Is that a yes?"
"Of course it's a yes, 'chee."

I lent in and connected our lips, leaning over on his lap. Richie pulled me closer and I wrapped my arms around his neck, fingers tangled in his hair.

I felt so free then. Like anything was possible. No one was in our way, my mum, his parents, school. Richie always made me happy, no matter how sad I was.

I pulled away suddenly. "I love you." I said, biting the inside of my cheek. Richie smiled, his eyes twinkling.
"I love you to."

a/n yo, so this is the end of the book coz I've kinda moved on to stenbrough (hence the username) and it doesn't like feel right writing reddie (okay that sounds weird).
