Trouble finds you

It's 2.a.m, and I'm feeling the best I've ever felt. I was with new friends, letting loose and without a care in the world. I'm usually not a drinker, but tonight was an acceptable occasion. We've been sitting at the bar since we got here, and talked about everything. We opened up to each other in ways we never have to one another.

Kassidy opened up about her abusive dad. He was a drunk. When he would come early hours of the night, he would go into his room where his wife would be sleeping soundly, and would wake her up with words of hate and do unspeakable actions to her. When she had gotten her own place and had started to live on her own, she's been too scared to find love, or to be with anyone for that matter.

Shelby used to puke. Her parents and siblings all would make fun of her weight. Call her all kinds of names, body shame her, tell her to watch what she ate. The only solution she thought of, was purging. After she had moved away from home, she finally learned to love herself. She accepted who she was and not one person could make her think different.

"So what about you Cass, what was your childhood like? What's your deepest darkest secret?" Shelby asked with a slur. I looked down at the empty shot glasses." In all honesty, I had a great childhood. I had a mom and a dad who loved each other completely. We even had a family dog. I was the only child so I was pretty spoiled" I said with a laugh. Kassidy and Shelby both listened with open ears." My darkest secret, is that I hate myself." Both of them looked shocked, and froze." I know I'm beautiful. I have an amazing body, I have gorgeous long silk hair. But I don't know, guys. I hate having to live with the fact that I have to deal with the constant stares, the cat calling, everything." I started to feel the urge to cry, I've never told anyone about this. The one person I had told called me selfish, and ignorant. And ever since that day I've kept it to myself."

Shelby and Kassidy wrapped their arms around me, they could tell this made me really upset." Ive dated guys before, and they've all wanted the same thing from me. They wanted..all of me, in every way. And then when I wouldn't give it to them, they left.." a single tear fell down my cheek." You know what Cassandra?" Kassidy said pulling away while resting her hand on my back." Fuck, men. You don't need a man to make you happy, to feel good about yourself. You don't need a man in general." I gave her a smile." And besides" Shelby said." We got our hands to keep us company." With that I let out a loud laugh.

"Motherfucker you better back of!" A man yelled from behind us. We turned to see two vampires face to face with each other." No you better back off, buddy!" The other vampire yelled back. After those words they started to go at each other. It all happened so fast for my drunken self to even comprehend what was happening. When one vampire was pinned, the one on top of him was about to rip his heart right out of his chest. Until one second later, the man was hung up in the air by his neck. To my surprise, Eric had him in the air above his head. Everyone went silent, no one dared to make a sound." What makes you think you have the right to destroy my bar?" Eric said keeping eye contact with him. The man continued to choke for air." I'm so sorry sheriff" the man struggled to speak out. Sheriff?

Eric gave out a chuckle. He let go of the man, letting him fall to the floor." If I ever see you in my bar again I'll have your head." He said while walking back to his throne. The man then sped out of the bar, without leaving a trace. I watched him as he walked. I watched his back muscles move as he went to move his hair from his face. He plopped into his chair, and looked back at me one last time. I wanted to learn more about him, even after what he did. He just seemed so, devious.

"Welp, I think I'm done for the night." Kassidy said as she went to grab her purse." Same here, I have to wake up in 4 hours for work." Shelby said as she started to unglue herself from her seat. I agreed that it was time to go, but I soon figured out that everyone was too drunk to drive." I'm getting us a cab, we can come and pick the car up in the morning. Sound good?" I asked them. They both agreed with a nod." We have to go pee again, and we promise to not take twenty minutes this time." Kassidy said with a smile. I laughed a bit, before walking out to the front of the building. For a summer night, it was surprisingly cold outside.
