Summer Rush - III

Many things had happened after that fateful day. The cement plant was issued a Cease and Desist Order (CDO) pending a formal investigation on the matter. It was at first a small win but the next local election 2 years after, "cemented" the local's case. Lam ran for Mayor in their town and won by landslide. His vow to dismantle the illegal cement plant and uncover the blatant corruption won the hearts of the people.

Lam's party and all their compatriots organized a victory party for everyone's hardwork so far. They all know that the war was not completely won yet, but their movement in sustaining their environment were gaining ground. They could at least celebrate their small accomplishments along the way.

T/N: You can quote me on this. The only reason why an environmentally high impact facility will be put up is because of its economic gains. Now whether that gain is for the commumity (whether local or national interest) or for the pockets of businessmen, that's where government should weigh in. There are installations that are vital to a country's economy: powerplants, storage facilities, fuels, food manufacturing, refineries, etc. Just to give you an idea that some highly pollutive industries are necessary. Or else you will have power to charge your phones or fuels for your car. I for one came from two industries that are considered the most pollutive: Powerplants and and Oil Refinery. I worked in their Environment Group.

It is in this party that Forth dragged Beam to his with the latter screaming loudly, "The hell Forth! We didn't inform Mama that we're leaving! The party is not yet over! Mama won't have anyone to bring her homer later! Let's go back!"

"Don't worry love, Minute will take our mothers home. She assured me when I told her about my plan. Give our mothers a time to enjoy the night. Lam specifically hired a ballroom dance instructor for our more senior partygoers. Besides, I'm sure your mother is proud of Lam because he's her godson. She also bestfriends with my mother. It's amusing that they are now magbalae!", Forth retorted with a grin.

T/N: Magbalae (pronounced: Mag-bah-lah-eh), it's a local term that states the relationships of the parents-in-law of the couple. Like in this example, Mother of Beam and Mother of Forth can be considered magbalae. But technically it only applies after they're married.

"Magbalae my face! Where are we going? It's already the dead of night!", Beam inquired irritably.

Forth stopped the car on the side of the rode for a moment then captured Beam's lips for a hot kiss. It's his love's only weakness, as if telling not to ask anymore questions and just trust him.

"You know what, even though we turned older, you're cheeks are still quite a sight when you're blushing," Forth then dove for another kiss to Beam to which the latter started repelling.

"Excuse me Engr. Jamornhum, you are five years older than me. So technically, you're the only one old here," Beam rolled his eyes then rested his back straight on his seat.

"Aging like fine wine right? You can't deny that...", Forth whispered in a smirk as he held Beam's left hand and placed it on his hardening bulge. He leaned over and licked Beam's ear which made the latter kilig.

"Pervert..." Beam said in jest then reciprocated a kiss to Forth's mouth.

"I have something to show you in where we are headed," Forth said when he broke the kiss.

Beam sat properly again like earlier, and it was Forth who pulled the seatbelt and locked Beam in safety. Afterwards, the car zoomed again. It was quite a long ride. Beam ran out of stories, got tired and dozed off.

"Wake up love... We're here..." Forth was kissing Beam to wake his lover up.

Beam was still scratching his eyes while he was being guided by Forth out of the car. Forth circled his arm around Beam and led him. When Beam finally recovered his ability to see, he was amazed with what he saw. A small but beautiful cabin stood in front of him. It's made of wood and looked very inviting. They were inside a medium-sized but wide enclosure without a neighboring houses.
