The vibrations of phones of various colors take center stage as five grunts and moans from each bedroom fill in their equal noise gap. Each of their phones are playing songs from their favorite bands. One of the first male grunts grabs his phone, turns it off before Get Scared's "Don't You Dare Forget The Sun" could finish its opening riffs, gets out of bed, and goes to enter into his bathroom via the butter-colored doorway. A female grunt, shortly after trying to resist the urge to get up thanks to her phone's playing of Linkin Park's "Papercut" being so fricking loud by hiding under a pillow, groans in frustration as she musters the strength to get up and get ready for the day. Sum 41 is set off on the third male grunt's phone before he stretches and turns off "The Hell Song," his second favorite song besides "Noots." He then gets up, makes his bed, and goes to his receptive bathroom to touch up for the day. The fourth grunter, like her fellow heavy sleeper, tries to ignore the catchy Set It Off song "Wolf in Sheep's Clothing," yet her anger takes over as she yells in frustration by way of pounding her fists on the bed in a wild, savage manner. Swiping the phone away from the desk where her glass was, the glass gets harshly sat back up on its usual spot. Thankfully, her water cup is empty, courtesy of her drinking the whole damn thing last night. The girl with yellow hair turns off her third favorite song and looks over her phone. The angry young gal then goes on to wish both her baby sister and wonderful aunt good morning along with her professing her love for them in the form of casual texts. This, of course, is after she calms the frick down with three deep breaths. Aunt Vivian would kill her if she was lashing out all the time and didn't remember what to do when she's pissed off. She then heads for the bathroom to ready herself for today, her choosing to make her bed after she gets ready. The final female groaner, contrasting to her four peers' casual wake up routines, is already up. Even before her favorite Linkin Park song "Numb" could finish its opening tune, the Star Wars geek stretches and yawns loudly while getting up. The girl turns off her phone, makes her bed, and heads to the bathroom to get ready for the day. Getting downstairs after he'd just gotten dressed, the first young man sees that his two friends are making breakfast, the sizzling of fresh pancakes and bacon being his evidence to this claim.
"Pancakes and bacon again, I see?" The leader asked casually. The two girls nodded in response while the yellow color-plated teen flipped a ready pancake. Getting two fresh pieces of toast on the third griddle just after she codes them into the buttery and cinnamon liquid, the black and purple-robed girl has the object begin its magic on making the team their french toast.
"Sweet!" The redheaded girl says as she makes her way downstairs to the smell of good breakfast.
"Oh my god. Is that french toast, geek girl?" The redhead inquires in a quippy manner.
"Uh, yeah. Why else is there toast being cooked on the third griddle?" The girl in question quipped back. That quip alone from her crush made the redhead smile at her in a very stupid manner.
"Good morning to me," The vigilante in a familiar hero's style of fashion said. Everyone turned and chuckled a bit before the team of five teens has their breakfast together.
"So Jayden, any big plans for today?" The Star Wars geek asks before a fork full of pancake goes into her mouth.
"Well, not much," Jayden admits after he swallows his pancake bite.
"We pretty much don't have a ton to do today, guys. You know, aside from helping out pedestrians and fighting bad guys here and there," Jayden admits once again while eating his second pancake bite.
"So Jayden, you excited for having another round at My Hero One's Justice after our patrol?" The redheaded girl said after swallowing a big bite of her french toast.
"Hell yeah, Ashley," Jayden said in a vigorous tone.
"Dude, I'm gonna cream you guys as Red Riot. He's best boy," The vigilante said which therefore makes everyone chuckle profusely.
"Best boy? I think you mean Deku, dude," The Star Wars geek declares before her pancake bite enters her mouth and goes down her throat after chewing it steadily.
"Deku? That nerdy, crybaby All Might fanboy? Get outta here!" This whole table chuckled loudly at that point as, while Deku is a fairly interesting main character, there are quirks about him that rub a lot of people the wrong way. After the chuckling dies down, the raven-haired young lady continues talking but through changing the subject this time.
"I'm just throwing this out there, but I think a trip around the city would be a good idea," The Star Wars geek said after she finished her bacon bite and right before taking a drink of her orange juice.
"What do you mean by that?" Jayden asks his teammate.
"Well: I'm just saying we should get to know the people more, see what special tech Fic-City has to offer, make our hotspots for hangouts, and learn more about those weirdos on the news." The group merely glace toward each other for a few seconds before nodding in agreement.
"I mean, I could totally see us frequenting Dustin's. That's for sure," One yellow color-plated girl said.
"Agreed. And she's right, we need to familiarize ourselves more with the people. Good thinking," Jayden complement. The Star Wars geek couldn't help but nod joyfully. She loves when people appreciate what she does. It only reassures her that her talents aren't to be wasted.
"I honestly agree too. Plus, come on guys. We need to do more around this city besides beat up bad guys and help grandma walk the street." The team chuckles alongside their vigilante friend whilst they continue talking.
"Yeah. You're right, Shadow Bird," Jayden says before taking another bite of his pancake.
"Oh, guys. I've got my Xbox 360 set up in my room now. And guess what?" The redhead asks her companion she has a crush on at the table.
"What's up, Ashley?" This special someone of Ashley's asked before taking a sip of her milk.
"I got The Force Unleashed on my Xbox." The raven-haired chick, the Star Wars geek within her taking over, spits out her drink and turns to Ashley in a half-crazed state.
"Holy shit! You sure?" The fanatic asks. Ashley nods her head in response.
"Ashley, after we get back from our trip, we're playing that game!" She shouts excitedly while squealing. God, she's wanted that game for so long. It's got it all. Awesome gameplay, her favorite fictional character, a fantastic story, and just gorgeous graphics. The introduction to her Star Wars days started the minute she picked up and played that video game for a precious three hours.
"Ahem," A voice calls out to both girls. She'd just cleaned her face with a napkin, but she was still pissed at having milk spit into her face.
"Oops. Sorry, Aubrey," The raven-haired girl said as she rubbed the back of her head steadily.
"Next time Asori, keep your Star Wars horniness down. Ok?" Aubrey said bluntly. Asori's face grew red as Ashley and Shadow Bird giggle at that joke like two mischievous brats. Jayden only chuckled lightly before taking a sip of his oj. Jayden in particular is now in his room getting his stuff together to ready himself for the day. Getting over to his iron-gray sneakers, the blue hooded young man looks over to see two of his favorite heroes standing over him. Smiling back at them, this boy nods to them to silently thank him for wishing him luck as always. Whether it's preparing for a hard day, him dealing with screaming and fighting for the millionth time, or whatever else coming his way, they're always there by his side telling him to keep going. Jayden simply can't thank them enough for that. Especially now when he's trying to be the best hero he can be. Jayden then exits his room shortly after tying his shoelaces on his dominant shoe, optimism from his heroes washing over him like the wave on a sandy, dry beach. Ashley's seen getting her shoes on as well as going through some old photos on her phone. After tying up her last shoelace, melancholy couldn't help but fill up her facial features. The foster families. The families that failed her. The families, besides her shitty school life, that made her the brat that she was back then. The redhead takes a deep breath before stopping and thinking. No, it wasn't their fault. Regardless of how they treated her, it's still no alibi for her attitude back then. All she's hoping for now is to be better from that bitch that she was in her old town, somewhere she won't ever go back to as to preserve her soul. Shadow Bird feels the same way when looking back at a photo of him and his father. Well, the man who was the dad who got taken from him. Placing it back down, the young man allows his eyes to water up only a bit before taking a deep breath. Even though he had good times there, San Francisco wasn't his home anymore. He's happy here. He's got friends and a city he's gonna do everything in his power to protect. That's enough for him. Sniffling, Shadow Bird's award-winning smile returns like that as he places the photo back where it was and goes back to getting his stuff ready. Aubrey wrote down her positives and negatives in a straightforward manner just before she puts on her favorite running shoes. This morning routine helps her decide whether or not today's gonna be a great or shitty day. Regardless of what's in store, Aubrey is positive things are gonna be great. Once the format in her journal is in place, the young lady gets her shoes on before speeding off to the front door where her friends are waiting. Not wanting to keep them waiting herself, Asori places her Galen Marek action figure where she originally placed it two days ago. The young lady is satisfied that she placed it near the poster of a game that, while she enjoyed up close, isn't in her top ten favorite video games list. Hell, she's only played a few video games in her lifetime. By a few, she means only two to three. She only wishes to increase that number once she gets exposed to more video games. Viewing her locket on the desk where her laptop lied charging, Asori looked upon its emptiness with a desire to replace it with something new. Something better. Something that won't treat her like trash. Asori tenses up for a great few seconds while holding the locket firmly with her fist. The young lady, the thought of meeting her friends for the first time replacing her resentful thinking, then takes three deep breaths before setting the locket down. Asori's never going to let him bring her down ever again. She's gonna live a happy life without worry or stress from the past. At least, that's what she prays for. Asori then leaves her room to join her new team in the living room where her new life awaits.
"You guys ready?" Jayden asked his team. Everyone nods to him before the team went out the door to start their day on the town. Fic-City, a gorgeous city with lots to show. That's what the five-member team of young heroes know as evidenced when walking in the city. These streets are vast and open. Hardly any cars drove these streets due to new teleportation technology being distributed near every house, every restaurant, every workplace, and every apartment complex. Just type in the address, select the place you want to go to related to that address, push the button that'll take you to that address, and you're where you need to be in five seconds. The skyscrapers and company buildings above the people below are like Seattle, Tokyo, and New York had all transformed into a giant megacity. Speaking of the people, there is a multitude of people in this city. Human beings. Anthropomorphic beings. Mythical beings. Even people who look like different colors of the rainbow. Everyone here is so rich and colorful in their own ways. Parents were getting their kids ice cream, couples making out on benches and walls, and a few kid groups running around at the park playing in their own little worlds. The team of teens didn't have much reaction towards this scenery other than just smiling at it. It fills them with great joy regarding the fact they're staying in a city as wondrous as this. Speaking of wondrous, what surprised these teens the most about this place is the fact the planet Fic-City is on is called Wondious. The team wondered why the planet was named Wondious as they walk the streets of their new home. Far more important matters soon enter their minds, however, so this mystery shall be put on hold for now.
"Where's a good arcade around here?" Aubrey asked casually.
"I dunno. Let's look for that one first," Said Jayden calmly.
"Good call. I've been wanting to try my thumbs on those joysticks for ages now," Shadows Bird said proudly, the young vigilante cracking both his knuckles while boasting during his second sentence.
"Pfft. Be ready for that time, Shadow Bird. 'Cause I'm gonna wreck you once we get on a fighting game," Ashley brags with her hands behind her head.
"Ohh, please try Ms. Fire. Just be sure to have a ton of ice for burns you're gonna crawl away to safety to treat. That and your inflated ego." Ashley chuckles at that firing back of Shadow Bird's words. However, just before she could fire back herself, Aubrey throws her proud words towards the two bantering teens.
"You guys sure talk big, but you'll both be sorry when I get in the ring." Shadow Bird, knowing Aubrey was trying to satisfy her own ego here, decides to respond to her instead of continuing his wordplay war with Ashley.
"Ohh, you mean the one where Ashley knocked ya outta the park in the ring by throwing you over it?" Ashley in particular chuckles profusely at that burn and the two high five each other to further add salt to Aubrey's wound.
"Ok, Batman reject!" Aubrey shouts, her pride hanging in the balance at this point. Shadow Bird, despite her feelings, didn't give a crap.
"You mean Batman and Spider-Man's gorgeous love child?" Shadow Bird said proudly.
"Gesundheit!" Aubrey shouts once again. Ashley, seeing Jayden obviously zoned out from the conversation, decides to put an end to this before their leader is unintentionally reminded of his past.
"Aubrey, don't lie. I beat you fair and square, ok?" Ashley said in a tone laced with both a smile and seriousness that even Shadow Bird took seriously. Aubrey, having only taken a glance at Jayden not even paying attention to them, sighs in defeat.
"Fine, you're right," Aubrey said with a smile. The two ralliers smile back at her as the team continues their quest for an arcade. Like Jayden, Asori didn't pay attention to the conversation as her eyes are too busy scanning for anything reminding her of the classic arcade boxes and whatnot associated with their desired location. Jayden's mind soon caught itself in the grasp of one particular idea involving food.
"You guys wanna go to Dustin's for lunch?" The leader asked his teammates.
"Hell yeah!" Aubrey exclaims before her tongue begins sizzling with excitement. Licking her teeth underneath her lips, the yellow hooded gal couldn't wait for burgers and fries to enter her mouth.
"Sure," Ashley remarks casually.
"I'm down," Asori said as she decides to focus on the conversation with her friends.
"I could totally go for a triple stack burger," Shadow Bird said before his hand rubs his stomach.
"Yeah, and those garlic fries. They're so-" Before Aubrey's garlic fantasy could be complete, a sudden screech altered them to trouble just behind them.
"HEY!" The scream came from a man who looked old and gray, yet his average built body and attire made him look like a man in his early to mid-thirties. As typical of these situations, he chases a man who'd just stolen his suitcase.
"GIVE ME BACK MY SUITCASE!" Rolling her eyes, Aubrey casually speeds to the man who thought his little theft would go by unnoticed.
"Crap," The guy manages to say before the yellow lightning bolt pinned him to the ground and allows Shadow Bird to cuff his hands.
"Do you crooks never learn?" Jayden said on one knee to the guy.
"Nope," The crook said after a grunt. Aubrey kicks him in the gut before Asori manages to get the suitcase from his hands and hands it off to its rightful owner.
"Thanks so much. Hey, are you those "Alta Hero" kids by chance?" The cleverness of this man's tone causes Shadow Bird to respond in kind.
"Nope." The man and the group chuckle like crazy as handshakes ensue just after the suitcase is delivered.
"Nice one, man," Shadow Bird said before he shook his hand.
"What are your names?" Smiling snarkily at that comment, more giggling comes out of everyone's mouths. He knew who these kids were. After all, he isn't someone who just reads boring old books and watches TV only for sports.
"So, how've you kids been?" The man questions after his tone calms down.
"Great, Mr..." Asori tries to come up with a name, but the recipient does it for her.
"Todd. Jefferson Todd. I'm the principal of Draven Bates High School. Ohh, speaking of my school, I got a meeting with my staff in twenty minutes," The principal said after checking his watch.
"Well, we don't wanna keep ya busy now, do we?" Knowing this is their time to leave, Shadow Bird casually gets to the guy who just wants to get outta here and not be laughed at by everyone.
"Come on, bud. Let's get you to the crook motel where you belong," Shadow Bird said as he and the others began to take their leave.
"Nice to meet you, sir," Asori said politely, the rest nodding politely to the man as well.
"Keep up the good work, Alta Heroes," The man said before he and his suitcase took their leave. The team does so as well as they put their quest on hold, but at least for a good walk to the crook motel.
