"Ok people I know we're all still recovering from theast shocking reveal, but the show must go on!"
You turned your head when you felt a small tap on your shoulder, you smiled from inside you mask when you were met with Kara.
"Ms. It's your turn to go on." She smiled nicely. You inwardly freaked out, you had no idea when your next turn was going to be but now you do.
"Let's bring back a favorite of yours for her second performance. The Phoenix is back out for a more soulful performance.
Alright baby, I got this. Show them I'm here to win. You hyped yourself up as you strolled casually out to the stage. The lights blinded you just as they did the first time, the crowd cheered once they got sight of you.
The lights dimmed and you got into place near the back of the stage. Stage-hands put mirrors behind you, you shook out the stress in your body and brought the mike to your mouth. You let out a shakey breath and heard the audience and panel whispering.
"She's nervous."
"Is she scared?!"
"You've got this, Phoenix!"
You looked up at the reassuring comment, people in the crowd were shouting support, but Fatgum was the one who yelled the loudest. Everyone in the panel gave you large smiles and thumbs up.
I can do this. You thought, looking at the crowd with determination.
The music faded in along with dim blue lights.
"I don't like my mind right now." You started, some cheers from the crowd were shooshed as you continued, you stayed still. You decided that you would start the song with a different voice, you sung with a higher pitch and voice.
"Stackin up problems that are so unnecessary."
"I wish that I could slow things, down. I wanna let go but theres comfort in the panic."
You started walking ward slowly, jerking you hand and head around to emphasize your voice. The blue lights flickered on beat to white then back to blue.
"And I drive myself crazy, thinking everything's about me…" You held a dramatic fist near your chin and looked up at nothing in particular.
"Yeah I drive myself crazy, cus I can't escape the gravity."
Fatgum and Ms. Joke stood up and leaned on their hands against their desk. They eyes shone and had wide smiles.
"I'm holding on! Why is everything so heavy?! Holding on! To so much more than I can carry!"
You crouched a bit and kept your head straight as you sang. The lights had flicked to purple and stayed while you sang the chorus. You smiled as you continued to hear encouraging cheers from random people among the crowd.
"I keep draggin around what's bringin me down, if I just let go I'd be set free." You let your head fall, your chin hit your chest. Only to lift it up quickly right after.
"I'm holding on!"
You smiled and started singing with your normal voice, which was lower and sounded more feminine, let alone seductive. "Why is everything so heavy?"
