Crystal and Violet were hard-at-work, writing down why they deserve the crown for when their father retires or dies.
Crystal and Violet are smart, but Violet believes in ruling with an iron fist. Crystal doesn't want to do that; she does, however wants to keep the values of the kingdom alive.
Crystal wrote: "When I become queen, I will keep the bad guys away, and I will help my people."
Violet wrote: "When I become queen, anyone who defies or annoys me the slightest will be punished severely. Punishments can range from being in the dungeon to execution. Also, I will have a McBurger around every corner."
Violet also drew stick people and Pokémon being tortured.
Violet sped through, writing her dark yet sensible reasons why she should have the throne. She shouted out, "Finished!"
She and Crystal raced back to the private study, pushing each other and calling each other names along the way.
"Move, you clod!"
"No, you move, softie!"
When they reached the room where her father does his work, they yelled, "Finished!"
King Leonard looked stoic. He started look at the papers, while he was humming 'Ode To Joy.'
The two sibling turned slightly nervous by just looking at his mouth, wondering what he was going to say. Crystal looked worried, patting her feet and twiddling her fingers. Violet had an evil, confident smile on her face, thinking she'd win the throne. Riolu and Salandit were looking through the door, then they stared at each other. Leonard finally let out a big sigh.
Then, he declared, "The winner iiiiis... Crystal."
Violet shook her head disbelief. She trembled at the fact that she lost to her younger stepsister. She started crying a bit, while Crystal danced for joy. "But...but...MY idea...MADE SENSE, DAMMIT!"
Riolu laughed at Salandit. He taunted, "IN YOUR DECREPIT FACE!"
The lizardlike Pokémon hung her head in shame.
