Grey rain clouds hovered over the Sapphire Kingdom.  The playground was empty. Usually, there would be children playing there. The Castform levitating around turned from normal form to rain form, except they looked very sombre.

Inhabitants of the kingdom lined the sidewalks for the king and queen's funeral. Crystal and Riolu were with their workstaff, holding on.

Crystal looked at the maid with sad, soulful eyes. "Where are they taking them?"

The maid, Evelyn, didn't know how to reply without hurting her young feelings."Uhhh...uh-uh..."

The advisor, Herman, told her, "I think you should tell her already."

Reluctantly, Evelyn let out a big sigh and broke her silence and spilled the truth towards the little tyke. "They died. Someone poisoned them during dinner. No one knows who did it."

"Oh," Crystal replied with tears in her eyes. "Wh-Who'd do such a thing to them? They're the nicest people I know... It can't be true! IT CAN'T BE TRUE!"

The blue coffins came, being carried by a double carriage that's being pulled by Shiny Ponyta. Crystal embraced the maid while bursting into tears. Riolu didn't know to respond, so he kept his mouth shut, as to not do anymore damage.

Everyone followed the caskets to the cemetery, where the king and queen will be laid to rest. The clergyman was in the lead, singing chants.

Wen they finally reached The Royal Graveyard, the caskets were being laid into holes that were about 6 feet deep. The eulogist showed up in his black attire. He let out a big a sigh. "Dearly departed. We've come to say good-bye to a king and queen. They are lost, but they are not forgotten."

As the trumpeters played TAPS, the coffins were being let down by strong-armed Pokémon, such as Machamp and Pangoro.

Crystal was still crying. Her parents are gone, and there's nothing anyone can do.
