Chapter 5: Unexpected Company

Elijah's POV

I woke up to the sound of somebody chuckling beside my bed. I shoot up and have the intruder slammed up against the wall in a matter of seconds.

On the bed Elena is just staring at me in total shock.

Elena: How did you move so fast? And who the hell is that?

She distracted me for 2 seconds and the next thing I know the intruder snapped my neck!

Elena's POV

The intruder just killed Elijah and it's all my fault! I distracted him and now he's dead! What the hell is going on?!?!?!

Me: Who the hell are you?

Klaus: Klaus Mikaelson

Me: Mikaelson? You're related to Elijah and you killed him?!?!?!

Klaus: He's not dead love. I wish it was that easy to kill them sometimes though.

Me: What do you mean? You just snapped his neck!!! How is he not dead?

I was completely freaking out! What are these Mikaelson boys?

Me:  What are you guys?

Klaus: Well love, have you ever heard of Vampires?

Me: This is not a joke! There's no such thing as Vampires!!!

Klaus: Oh there most certainly is love. And you were just sleeping with an Original Vampire.

Me: An Original?

Klaus: Yes love, we're  the first Vampires ever made, hints the name Original.

This was just too much to handle. I run out of the room and to Jeremy's room.

Elena: Jer, get up and pack. We're leaving!

Jeremy: What's going on Elena?

What am I suppose to tell him? I don't want him to know about any of this! He's going through enough right now, he doesn't need this!

Elena: Bonnie said we could stay with her until Jenna gets here.

Jeremy: Ok, I'll be ready in about 30 minutes.

Elena: Ok, I'm gonna go call Bonnie back. Jer... I love you.

Jeremy: Love you too Lena.

I go into my room and call Bonnie while I packed.

Bonnie: Hello?

Elena: Hey Bon-Bon, is it okay if me and Jer come and stay with you until Jenna gets in town?

Bonnie: Of course Elena, you're my best friend!

Elena: Thanks, can you come and get us? I'll text you the address.

Bonnie: Ok Elena, I'll see you in a little bit.

Elena: Ok, bye

30 minutes later me and Jeremy are getting into Bonnie's car and headed to her house. On the way there I get a text.

Elijah: Elena please, come back to the house.

Me: No, I don't know what's going on between you and your brother but you need to stay away from me, and more importantly you need to stay away from Jeremy!

Elijah: Come on Elena, I will explain everything to you. Just give me the chance to!

Me: How do I know you won't hurt me?

Elijah: What have I been telling you since I met you Elena?

Me: That you'll never hurt me, and as long as you're around I will never be in danger.

Elijah: Exactly. Do you still trust me?

Me:...Yes.

Elijah: Then trust me when I say I care about you and only want what's best for you.

Me: Ok, I'll be at 1359 Boulevard Drive. Pick me up around 2 and we can go to The Grill and talk

Elijah: Ok Elena, I'll be there

What am I getting myself into.
