Chapter 19: The gender of the twins

First of all I want to thank 2 people for the twins names. bulldozed88 for one of their names. And Kol_Elijah for the first name of the other one!!!! Big thank you to the two of you!!!! :)

Elena's POV

I get up in the morning and I am so excited! Today is the day we find out the gender of the Twins!!!!! I can't wait!!! I look at Lijah and he's fast asleep. I get up and go take a shower. When I get out Lijah's still sleeping so I go downstairs. The only person down there is Kol. Me and Kol have been spending a lot of time together. He brings out the inner Kid in me.

Me: Hey Kol.

Kol: Hey Lena, what are we doing today?

Me: Baby appointment today. We find out what the twins are!

Kol: That's great. But to go everybody has to wake up first.

Me: Are you thinking what I'm thinking?

Me and Kol: Time for a wake up call!

We start laughing. We plan our way of waking everybody up. We go in the Kitchen and get 8 buckets out. We fill each one up with ice and water. We go up and sit 2 by each door.

Kol: Who do you want to start with?

Me: Lijah!

We sneak into mine and Lijahs bedroom with a bucket in our hands. We run over and dump it on Elijah and then vamp speed to the next one. We sneak into Jers room and do the same and then go to the next one. We sneak into Bekahs room and dump the water on her. Then we walk up to the last room. We are really nervous about this one. But we shrug and sneak into Klaus's room and dump the water on him and vamp speed down to the livingroom. Kol sits down and starts watching TV. I lay down and put my feet on him and act like I'm reading. We look up and see four angry people looking at us. We look at each other and start laughing.

Kol: Ok, now that you guys are up you gotta get ready. We're finding out what the twins are today! At least you guys don't need showers.

I couldn't help but to giggle about Kol's comment about the showers.

Elijah: Kol what have you done to my sweet Lena?

Klaus: Yeah she's becoming more like you!

Me: Hey what can I say. My best friend knows how to have fun. Now let's get going... oh but you four might wanna change first. Your clothes are a liitle wet.

Me and Kol start laughing again. The four give us dirty looks and leave mumbling things like "stupid sire bond" and Klaus saying to Lijah "maybe she picked the wrong Mikaelson brother" and Lijah saying "what has he done to my sweet Lena". Once they walk out we laugh so hard that we fall on the floor. A couple minutes later everybody was ready to go.

When we get to the hospital everybody is so excited and nervous!

Rebekah: I hope they're girls!!! Then I could teach them about fashion!!!!

Kol: I hope they're boys! Then I can teach them to be pranksters! Wouldn't that be great Lena! They could be pranksters with us!

Caroline: Two miniature Kols? No. I hope they are boys though! They could be miniature Lijahs!!! They could be sweet and noble like their daddy!!!

Bonnie: I gotta agree with Rebekah. I hope they are girls so that we can dress them up in cute girly clothes!!!

Elijah: I don't care what they are as long as they're healthy. But I wouldn't mind two miniature Lenas running around.

Me: Yeah I don't really care as long as they're healthy. But I would like two little Lijahs running around. Klaus, Jer, what do you guys think?

Klaus and Jer: One of each.

Me: Ok that wasn't weird at all. Why one of each?

Klaus: Well you guys are saying little Lijahs and little Lenas. One of each of you would be perfect. You see little Lijah would be sweet but boring. Little Lena would be caring and a prankster. They would be the perfect two. They would complete each other.

Jer: That's what I was thinking!!!! And I just want a niece I can spoil!

We all walk in the hospital laughing.

Meredith: Well it seems like everyone is happy today. This wouldn't happen to be because we're finding out the sex of the twins is it?

Me: Yeah. We were all just talking about what we wanted.

Meredith: Ok well let's find out what they are. Hop up here Elena.

I jump up on the bed. I have Lijah, Bekah and Kol touching my hand on one side. On the other side Jer and Klaus. Then Bon-Bon, Ash, and Care standing in front of the bed. Meredith does her ultrasound thing and points to the screen

Meredith: There they are. Congrats Elena and Elijah. You guys are having a boy and a girl.

All the sudden the doors fly open and in comes Aunt Jenna!

Jenna: How did this happen?

Elijah: You must be Jenna Sommers. I'm Elijah Mikaelson. I'm your nieces boyfriend and the father of her children.

Jenna: Children? As in more than one?

Oh no,  Jennas about to freak out!

Jenna: Oh Lena!!! Your parents would be so proud of you! How many?

Me: Twins

Meredith: So Elena, have you thought of any names?

Me: Yes. I know exactly what their names are gonna be.

I look over at Aunt Jenna.

Me: The girls name is gonna be Alyssa Sommer Mikaelson.

Jenna: Oh my god Lena, that's perfect!!!

I then look around at the Mikaelson siblings and my eyes land on Klaus. I grab ahold of his hand and he looks at me.

Me: Klaus you have been there for me and Jer since you met us. No matter how much I try I can never actually properly thank you for that. So our boys name is gonna be... Niklaus Henrik Mikaelson!

All of the Mikaelsons eyes start tearing up at the middle name Henrik.

Klaus: Thank you Lena! You have no idea how much this means to me.

Klaus leans down and kisses my forehead.

Klaus: I love you little sister!

Me: I love you too Klaus.

At that moment I was pulled into a big group hug by all of my family. The twins moved inside me. At that moment I knew that no matter what happened, we would always be a big happy family!
