The Monkie Kid felt rather relieved in a way. Sure, he still had DBK and now The Horned Kings to take down, but even so, he survived and took both of them down, and now he was being trained by The Monkie King himself. He felt happy. Plus, living in what was essentially a crappy house on the outside and an amazing monastery on the inside had it's perks.
Mei noticed her friend's smile and tapped his shoulder. "What's up?"
"Oh! Nothing. Just being super thoughtful, you know?"
"Ah. One of those moments." Mei said with a nod.
MK nodded before rubbing the back of his head. "Sorry about The Horned Kings trashing The Cloud Roadster."
"Nah, don't be! I expected you or some magical demon to trash it. Plus, it's your car, and it's being fixed, soo..."
"True, true." MK said with a nod before grabbing his staff and looking at it. "To think, it just started as me stumbling across this staff, us traveling across an ocean, me meeting The Monkie King, and now? We're heroes and I'm his successor."
Mei smiled and then looked at her best friend. "Well, if I were The Monkie King, I would've chosen you. You fought multiple demons WAY before you even got your powers! That's a true hero to me."
"Aww!!! Mei!" MK cried with a soft smile.
"It's true! You're fit to be a hero! And I'm not just saying that because you're my best friend!" Mei told him with a large smile on her face.
MK smiled even more and then hugged her. "Thanks, Mei."
"You're welcome, buddy...Is it just me or is the sun setting really fitting for this moment?"
"You know. I really don't know."
