Distant

There are days
when I feel so distant
with everything lying close to me
I look around
and it's as if I'm looking at
nothing but darkness
I try taking a step closer
but the darkness just envelopes me
a little more than before
I know people can't tell
they can't see
what I'm seeing
they can't feel
what I'm feeling
the darkness
it's just for me
but then there are days
when I feel so distant
and I wish
people would take a step closer
and envelope me into a hug instead
until the darkness disappears

There are days when despite trying, people can't find their way out of the dark pit they're in. They try, they look, they search for a way. But sometimes it's not as easy and sometimes, not as possible as it seems. Sometimes, despite trying, they can't reach out.

On those days, I hope you'd reach out to them instead. Help them. Heal them. Save them.

Hug them without having to ask for it.
