Spooz ran into the house panting from sprinting all the way there. He then went up the stairs and into the room where Cobra was.

"Cobra, I'm back." He walked inside and saw Cobra sitting on the floor with what looked like a ball of fur in her arms, "What's that?"

Cobra held out the thing for Spooz to see, "It's a kitten, I found her at the gas station that's near here." The kitten was black and white, a bit thin but otherwise unharmed.

"Aww shes- Wait, you went to the gas station!? Do you know how much danger you were in!?" Spooz was practically yelling.

"Calm down, there were no zombies there," Cobra said, going back to stoking the kitten. Spooz opened his mouth to explain but closed it shut. I can't tell her about Fallen and Nuget, she'll freak out. "I'm going to name her Munchkin!"

Spooz sat down beside Cobra so he could get a better look at the kitten.

"Yay! Also, where'd you go? You came back after noon and I started to get worried."

"Oh, I picked this up for you." Spooz pulled a large kitchen knife out of his pocket and handed it to Cobra, "You said you liked to fight with knives right?"

"Thank you so much! I-" She was cut off when the board over the window shot out of place and onto the floor, an arrow sticking out of it. Spooz crept over to the board and tore the arrow out of it. It had a steel head, could easily pierce through a skull. Oh no...

"Wh-What is it?" Cobra asked, hugging Munchkin tighter.

"It's... just an arrow. A skeleton probably tried to shoot us, lets get away from the window." The two of them moved to the far side of the window. I... really hope it was just a skeleton... they use these kinds of arrows but so does Nuget. They wouldn't have followed me, would they!? Did they try to shoot us!? No, they couldn't have. Nuget's aim is too good to miss such an easy target. I'm sure it was just a skeleton that missed... Spooz's mind was racing but he managed to stay calm. He still had about five hours or so until he had to leave again so he took this time to make sure Munchkin was alright.

"So you found her at a gas station?"

Cobra nodded, "Yup, poor thing was stuck in a trash can. She's lucky to still be alive, I haven't seen many animals ever since the apocalypse started. I found so unseasoned beef jerky that hadn't expired yet in the station, she ate up the whole bag. I'm not quite sure if cats can have that but it's the only thing I could find." As she spoke Cobra twirled her finger around on the floor while Munchkin chased it. She seemed like any average kitten, but we probably need to get her cleaned up somehow.

"So are we actually going to keep her? We can barely take care of ourselves and she's just one more mouth to feed..." Spooz said which then earned an irritated glare from Cobra.

"Of course we're keeping her! She'll die on her own! If you don't wanna take care of her then you don't have to but she's my responsibility and I'm going to do everything in my power to make sure she stays safe." Cobra's voice was stern as she picked up Munchkin and held the kitten close to her.

"Pft, I'm jealous," Spooz chuckled.

"Why?"

"You don't worry over me like that."

"After I got back from finding Munchkin do you think I was just chillin here? No! I was worried sick! Don't run off like that again, no matter what your stupid watch says!" Cobra demanded.

"Alright, but I can't make any promises." Spooz faked a chuckle but on the inside he was the one that was worried, She doesn't know that I have to run off, we'll both die if I don't. But I can't tell her, she'll totally freak out.

TIme Skip Cobra's POV

Night was beginning to fall as we were just sitting in the house. I watched Munchkin bat around a piece of plastic while Spooz was sharpening his sword with some kind of rock. I'm glad I found Munchkin, she wouldn't have lasted much longer out there on her own. Thankfully she's okay now, playing as if nothing ever happened to her, I'm wondering if she understands what's going on... if she understands the constant danger we're in because of all the monsters. The silence was broken by Spooz's watch beeping, he immediately got up, grabbed is backpack and began to walk towards the stairs.

"You're leaving again?" I asked, this time I was just annoyed.

"Uh... yeah... I'll be back soon okay?" He said, trying to look sympathetic.

"Sure... ya know... I feel like you're just avoiding me now..." I stated.

He turned completely around, "What! I would never do that! I don't want to leave but I-"

"Then don't leave, if you don't want to then don't!" I cut him off, glaring at him with pure anger.

"Look..." Spooz sighed, "I'll explain everything later... but I really do have to leave..."

I rolled my eyes, "Whatever, just go..." I turned away not wanting to hear anymore. Spooz hesitated then raced down the stairs and out the door. Munchkin then came over to me and sat in my lap. I stroked her gently and sighed. "Why does he always have to run off?" I then looked out the window and noticed how close the sun was to setting, "No one should be out at night, not even him... I need to see where he's going, not just so I can make sure he's not in any danger, I also want to know what he's hiding from me." I picked up Munchkin and placed her in my own backpack. At first she squirmed and tried to get out, "Munchkin, stay. It's very important that you stay in here." As if she understood what I was saying, Munchkin sat down inside the backpack. I zipped it shut only half way so she could breathe and so she wouldn't just fall out. I had the large kitchen knife Spooz gave me in my pocket for protection and left. It had only been about a minute or so since Spooz left so I could probably catch up to him without being spotted. I looked both ways down the street hoping to see him and I did, he had just turned the corner onto another street. I followed, staying on my toes as I did. Once I reached the corner I peeked my head around a nearby building and saw Spooz immediately, he was standing in front of a 6 story stone brick building. I saw him take a deep breath before going in.

"Where is he going?" I whispered out loud. Night had pretty much fallen and the sound of zombies growling could be heard. I ran across the street and into the building, trying to keep as quiet as possible. Thank god Munchkin wasn't making any noise, she probably fell asleep or something. A zombie passed by through the cracked window and it saw me, it let out a screech and nearby zombies started coming in its direction. They all started trying to break down the door or through the window. I dashed up the stairs hoping I could find Spooz quickly so then we could get out of here. Just as I made it to the third floor I began to hear voices. I went up floor after floor until I reached what I believed was the roof. I didn't leave the staircase because I could hear perfectly from where I sat between the 6th floor and the roof. There was Spooz's voice and what sounded like... who other people!?
