FoolishCobra

Cobra took a few steps out of the abandoned house and was hit by a wave of heat. It was hot inside but even worse outside. Finding a zombie wouldn't be hard, if you looked in any sort of abandoned store or gas station you'd find one. Cobra remembered there was a Walmart close to where she had decided to stay so she went straight there, holding her head up high. She then looked down at the pocket knife in her hand, Probably should've brought a better weapon but this is all I had... it's fine though, if I stab a zombie in the right place it'll be dead within seconds. As she continued down the cracked street the store began to come into view. It didn't look too bad compared to other places but there were some cracked walls here or there. Going up to the main entrance Cobra peeked inside, from what she could see the place was full of zombies but she only had to kill one. She waited until a lone zombie walked close enough away from the others to not draw any attention. If there's one thing to know about zombies is that they are drawn to noise. It came closer and closer until it was almost three meters away. Turning the corner Cobra ran at the rotting creature, pocket knife in the air ready to strike down on its head.

As she ran the zombie turned, baring its horrible yellow teeth. Taken aback Cobra missed and ended up stabbing the zombie in the shoulder instead. It let out a loud growl that would definitely cause some sort of attention. Nearby zombies started coming towards them at the front entrance, some moving much faster than others. Immediately turning to leave Cobra was met with more zombies coming in through the door, they had been seeking shade in the overhang and hadn't noticed her until now. Oh god no! Now that her only way out was blocked Cobra had no choice but to fight her way out. She turned to the nearest zombie and stabbed her knife into its chest. It collapsed to the ground, screeching loudly until it fell still. Facing the zombie to her right Cobra did the same thing but this time stabbed its head, not even giving it time to screech. She continued to fight off more zombies but others kept coming as the racket could be heard throughout the whole store. As Cobra fought her knife kept getting more and more dull before it was completely useless. She stuck it in a zombies head one last time and kicked the monster to the ground. Now she had no weapon and no way out. I... I might just die here after all! She thought as the space between her and the rest of the zombies closed.

Suddenly zombies closer to the front entrance began to fall and die, all the attention turning to whoever or whatever was killing them. As more and more zombies fell the thing was getting closer until it was in view. Spooz!?

"Kid! What are you doing in here!? You're going to get yourself killed!" He exclaimed continuing to fight off zombies with what looked like a freshly sharpened sword. Kid?! We're like the same age probably!

"I- I was just-"

"You can explain later! We have to get out of here!" Spooz grabbed her arm and dragged Cobra through the mob of zombies. Killing most of them as they stood in their path. Finally, they were able to get out unharmed.

Cobra stared that the zombies that there still inside, "Won't they follow us out?"

"No. They're smarter than that. They know they'll burn up at the slightest touch of sunlight." Spooz looked at the zombies and then at Cobra, "Are you hurt!? Did you get bit!?"

"Uh... N-No I'm fine." She answered, startled by his sudden harsh tone.

"Then what the hell were you thinking!? Going in there without a weapon! You could've been torn to shreds!"

"Well I wasn't and I had a weapon, it just kinda broke." Cobra retorted with her arms crossed, "And they wouldn't have 'torn me to shreds' they would've just bitten me and moved on."

Spooz facepalmed at these words, "People who only get bitten are lucky. Those zombies would tear you apart if given the chance! Eat the flesh straight off your bones! You think they'll settle for just biting you!?" Cobra rolled her eyes, why does he care so much anyway?

"Well, I'm fine now thanks to you..." The sun was already beginning to set and the worst of the monsters would be coming out soon. "Where do you stay during the night?"

"Usually in an alley... where you're staying is one of the only houses I've seen without zombies." Spooz explained.

"Well, why don't you stay for the night. It's much safer."

"Really!? You'd do that!? Thank you so much! I'd love to-" Spooz's watch beeped. When he looked down at it his eyes widened and his expression changed. "Actually... I have somewhere to be... so I can't sorry..."

"Again? But I-"

"I'll come find you after I'm done what I need to do. You should go back to the house, it's getting dark." Spooz turned and ran off in the other direction, living Cobra standing there. Where does he have to go in such a hurry... he's the first person I've seen in weeks and for some reason, he always has to run off. Sighing in disappointment Cobra went back to the house to wait.
