Scratch that, this is probably the shortest one shot I've written.

"Sorry if I, uh, barged in!" Spinel giggles. Steven sighs, smiling. "It's..it's alright, Spinel. I know you're just trying to help." Spinel tilts her head. "Speaking of help, anything I can do? Get some donuts, play video games, a blanket, give some soft hugs?" Steven chuckles awkwardly. "No, Spinel, it's alright. You don't have to do everything for me-" "But I insist! Until I help you with at least one thing, I won't go!" She bounces in place. "Well..my jacket would be nice. Not too cold, but not to warm either." Spinel smiles, before heading over to his closet, pulling out his jacket. "Here you go, bud!" She helps him put on his jacket. "Anything else you need?" Steven shakes his head, though he felt as if there was. "Nope, I'm fine, Spinel." Spinel nods, before walking down the stairs. Steven quickly follows her, stopping at the stairs. She walks closer to the warp pad. Steven's eyes widen, and he reaches his hand out to her. "Wait!" Spinel flinches, turning her gaze to him. "You don't need to leave so soon.." He realized what he needed, he needed her, he needed a friend. "Ya..Ya want me to stay?" She shoots him a confused look. "Yes!- Please.." She smiles warmly, and walks with him back to his room. "Want to watch TV..?" He gets in his bed. "Sure!" He turns on the TV, not caring what was on, he was too focused on Spinel settling in bed next to him, holding his arm. It took his breath away, she's just so sweet, so caring. He shifts a bit closer to her. He hesitates, but brushes his hand against hers. She glances at him, before laying her head on his shoulder. He holds her hand, and watches her eyes close as she drifts off to sleep. Steven carefully puts the covers over both of them, still slightly sitting up, and holds her close, his vision coming to a close.
