this is a short one

It was late evening as you strolled hand in hand with your girlfriend, getting out for a walk in the cool autumn air.

You kept glancing over at her perfect side profile, admiring her cute little button nose and the way tendrils of loose hair fell into her eyes, out of the braids she'd let you do earlier.

She eventually felt your eyes on her and turned to meet your gaze, offering a cute little grin that always made you smile instantly.

"This sunset is really something, huh?" She said, bumping her hip into yours as you both admired the brightly colored sky.

You nodded in agreement. The clouds were such a deep shade of orange that they even matched the flames on Billie's shirt.

"Can I take your picture?" You asked sweetly, hoping she'd say yes so this could be one of many moments you'd be able to capture forever.

She agreed and stood in front of you against the sky, looking effortlessly beautiful.

"You could smile, you know." You teased as she put on a stone-faced pout for the camera.

You snapped a few photos and she immediately went back to her goofy self, grabbing your hand and kissing the side of your temple.

"Nah, smiling's for the weak." She responded.

"Okay, weirdo."

She rolled her eyes and looked down at your phone as you scrolled through the images.

"Those actually look bomb."

"I know." You sighed. "How are you so perfect?"

She scoffed and turned to lift up your chin with her finger, giving you butterflies as your face was now only centimeters from hers.

"You are perfect." She practically whispered, dropping her hands to your hips before connecting your lips sweetly.

The butterflies intensified as you felt yourself blush, time seeming to stop for a moment as you stood there on the sidewalk.

She pulled away and admired you for a few seconds before she spoke.

"Ready to head back?"

You grinned. "Only if you'll stay up with me all night and watch scary movies like you promised."

She stroked her hand down your arm before intertwining your fingers again.

"Anything for you, baby."

Back at the house you did just that, curling up under a soft blanket together while Billie played with your hair as you laid on her chest.

Whenever a particularly frightening scene came on you would squeal and bury your head into her shoulder, while she chuckled at the fact that you were the one who had chosen the movie.

After about an hour you looked up to realize that Billie's eyes had fluttered closed, despite her promise to stay awake this time.

You thought about waking her up but decided against it, opting to just call it a night instead.

She let out a soft groan and instinctively wrapped an arm around you as you snuggled into her, breathing in her scent.

Before you knew it, the sound of her heartbeat had lulled you into a deep sleep.

i don't have the heart to officially end this book so i'm just going to keep updating sporadically until i'm completely out of ideas :)
