After the incident with Lorna loosing control of her powers things only got worse.
Lorna was trained to be a weapon. Her powers grew more powerful everyday she trained. She grew smarter and was as smart as Tony stark and Bruce Banner combined. Maybe even smarter.
By the time the avengers attacked she was ready for anything.

There was commotion all around the Hydra Reasearcg Base. "Report to your stations immediately. This is not a drill. We are under attack! We are under attack!"

The avengers fought off Strucker's men as Strucker walked up a flight of stairs.
"Who gave the order to attack?" Strucker asked.
"Herr Strucker, it's the Avengers." One of the scientists answered.
He was about to say something else, but was cut off by a random soldier. "They landed in the far woods. The perimeter guard panicked." The soldier proceeded to walk away.
"They have to be after the scepter. Can we hold them?" Strucker question.
"They're the Avengers."
"Deploy the rest of the tanks. Concentrate fire on the weak ones. A hit may make them close ranks. Everything we've accomplished..." Strucker orders walking over to the head scientist. "But we're on the verge of our greatest breakthrough."
"Then let's show them what we've accomplished. Send out the twins and girl." The scientist suggests.
The Maximoffs all look at each other as Strucker disagrees. "It's too soon."
