*Adelaine's POV*

During the long ride home I took some pictures of the clouds, the sunset and the sun rise because the sky was looking very beautiful. The flight was painstakingly long, 11 hours is a long time, but that's what it is. It is what it is, its the price we pay for wanting to join the army. People have said you should've gone to college first, but I like the army and I like defending our country. I slept for half of the trip the other third I was talking and other third eating, drinking and entertaining myself because I was bored. I started to hum for a bit than quietly and softly singing the words to a song that I wrote called 'Dead,' it was about a ex.

You could be here, but you're there

You could be anywhere and these days I don't even care no more

You only be showing me love whenever you've had too much

Whatever's been filling your cup, no more

Baby, no more showing up when you're not sober

At my front door just to say you're alone tonight

Yeah, tryna fck me and my mind up

It's a reminder you're a liar and you know I'm right

You say you can't live without me

So why aren't you dead yet?

Why you still breathing?

If you say you can't live without me

Then why aren't you dead yet?

Why do you say that?

You could be here but you're not, I give whatever you want

But you just take it and run, you run (oh run, run)

And I give you so many shots but you just drinkin' 'em all

You never give it a thought, oh lord (yeah)

Baby, no more showing up when you're not sober (sober)

At my front door just to say you're alone tonight (alone tonight)

Yeah, tryna fuck me and my mind up

It's a reminder you're a liar and you know I'm right

You say you can't live without me

So why aren't you dead yet?

Why you still breathing?

If you say you can't live without me

Then why aren't you dead yet?

Why do you say that? Why, why, why, why?

Why, why, why, why?

Why, why, why, why?

Why aren't you dead yet? Be careful what you say

Say only what you mean

Mean to me then you're nice

You're nice, you're nice

It's nice to know you now

Now that it all went down

Down on your knees you cry

You cry, you cry, yeah You say you can't live without me

So why aren't you dead yet?

Why you still breathing?

If you say you can't live without me

Then why aren't you dead yet?

Why do you say that? Why, why, why, why?

Why, why, why, why?

Why, why, why, why?

Why aren't you dead yet?

Why, why, why, why?

Why, why, why, why?

Why aren't you dead yet?

"Oh crap girl, you should be a singer?" Lucie said, as she woke up to my voice.

"No, I'm not a good singer but I like writing songs and performing them in front of my family." I said as it brought back memories of me and Dixie. We used to write short songs and put on a performance for our family and We loved doing duets with Karaoke machines. We would sing and Charli would put on a show with her dancing moves.

"Please I don't think I would like to be the centre of attention. Crowds freak me out." I said.

"Says the one who is literally in the army and holds a gun. The crowd can't hurt you, and plus I think everyone would love to hear your voice. You got talent Hun." Lucie said as she places her hand on my shoulder.

"Yea, yea alright...if you say so." I said, as the seat belt buckle comes back on.

"It's your pilot speaking, now upon arrival, make sure your seat belt is fastened and that the Window shield is lowed down and covered. Please make show you grab everything and leave nothing behind. Arriving time is at 4:30pm. The weather is beautiful outside." The pilot spoke over the PA system. "Hope y'all enjoy your flight, and thank you for your service." He spoke again. I fasten my seat belt again making sure it isn't loose or anything.
