Part 10//Goodbye

We spent the rest of the break reminiscing about old times and talking. She mostly wanted to know what Harry was like but I didn't mind. I would stay up until 3 in the morning every night trying to make the right choice. My heart wanted Draco but I would lose my friends and reputation if I left Harry for him. I knew that Harry was the right choice even if it wasn't what I wanted deep down. Who knows maybe if things don't work out between me and Harry I'll go back to Draco, but for know whatever this relationship is it's over.

Once I got back from the break the first thing I did was tell Malfoy to meet me in the astronomy tower to talk. "I've made my choice, meet there at midnight." "I hope you made the right choice (y/n)." He said with a wink right before walking away confidently. I started to headed off to class right before I started to hear Harry come up behind me. I quickly rush over to him and I kissed him before he could say anything. "I've missed you too." He says with a smirk. "Come on let's go to class." I said grabbing his hand and start leading him to the charms classroom. Everyone knew about Harry and I at this point and people actually started being nicer to me. The teachers weren't so stuck up and I was actually quite popular. Harry and I took our seats next to each. Me and Harry talked the whole class and I could see Draco's confidence slowly drift away every time he looked over at us. I didn't want to hurt him but he knew what we where doing was wrong so I would hope that he would understand

Once class was done I told Harry about how my mother wanted to meet him. "Glad to know that she likes me." He smirked. "Yeah I didn't think she would be so happy about me getting a boyfriend." He looked at me confused "Why would your mom be against it?" I didn't want to go to into detail so I just said she's a little old fashion about dating. "Well she must like me because I'm the chosen one." He said sarcastically. "Yeah that's probably why." I giggled, we spent the rest of the day talking about how our Christmas's went till he noticed the ring on my finger. "What a nice ring, did your mother give it to you?" He asked as he held up my hand to get a better look. My mother would never give me a gift because that wasn't really her thing, she thought that providing for me was enough. "Oh um yeah." I lied. I knew that he would be furious if I told him that it was a gift form Malfoy do I thought that hiding the truth would be a better option. "Well it's lovely." He smile as he brought his lip towards my hand and laid a gently kiss. He isn't even look suspicious which for some reason made me feel even more guilty.

Once night had fallen I arrived at the astronomy tower a bit early to wait for him. I was filled with fear as I heard the door slowly open. "(y/n) are you here?" his voice echoed. "Up here." I Said from the top floor. Once he finish coming up the stairs I looked over at him, our eyes met. "Hi Draco" I said with a smile. The moment was bitter sweet. "Do you remember the first time we met here?" he asked as he slowly stated coming towards me. "How could I forget." I laughed. He held both my hands in his and I looked up at him as planted a small kiss on my forehead "I wasn't lying when I called you beautiful.". I almost stated to tear up "Draco don't make this harder then it already is." I exclaimed. "Wait you picked Potter over me?"."I have too, or I'll lose everything." I said in an upset tone "So we're just going to forget about all the memories we shared." He said in sadness and confusion. "It's not like that, we just aren't meant for each other." I said pulling away from his grip.

"(y/n) please don't do this, I love you." He said trying to pull me back to him. "I love you too, that's why I have to let you go." I say starting to cry. "If things don't work out between us then maybe but deep down we both know that we could never be something." I said as I noticed a tear fall down his cheek. "I'll love you forever, there's nothing you can do to change that but this relationship has to end, goodbye Draco." We shared one final look with our heart broken in two, we went back to being strangers.

We spent the rest of the year not even looking at each other, I was almost like we couldn't bare to see the truth.

(I'm going to time jump yo the next year because no much else can happen when they aren't talking)

I've started my 6th year at Hogwarts and I have tones of new friends, it's final becoming my year and I'll get a change to make all the right choices. It felt so different actually being popular, everyone knew me as Harry's girlfriend which was mostly annoying but I rather been known as that then the mischievous Gryfindoor girl. Speaking of Harry, we spent the whole summer together and had grew even more close. My dad was super excited about us dating, he felt like he was in the presence of a celebrity.He wasn't very judgemental about my relationship which I was thankful for. Me and Hermione had also got close that I could even consider her my best friend. She was uptight but so kind hearted and was actually really fun to be around at times. Ron and I are becoming closer to but I think he still hold a grudge against me for "stealing his best friend."

One morning I was walking to Potions class until I noticed a weird dark figure in the shadows. It felt like something out of a horror movie and I was curious so I followed it.Only to reveal Malfoy looking flustered. "Malfoy? Is that you?" I called out into the hall. I started to walk down further until I felt a familiar hand grab the sleeve of my robe and pull me into a random broom closet. "What are you doing?" I asked in confusion. He placed his finger on my lips "shhhhh." He said in a scared voice. We stated to hear footsteps coming down the hall but we just waited in silence. The footsteps faded away and his finger was still pressed against my lips as the air went completely silent. "What was that about?" I whispered. "Nothing." He aid in a shaky voice. I'm about to walk back out until he grabs my hand and stops me from leaving. "(y/n) wait." He says in a hopeful voice. "What do you mean we haven't spoken all year and know you want to have a quick chat in a broom closet?" I said in a sarcastic tone.

He looks upset and he wasn't acting like his usual cocky self. "Well I've missed you, and um- I" his voice sounds very innocent and honest. "Oh just shut up already" I said with a smile right before pulling him into a kiss. He presses me against the wall slamming our lip together. I've missed this, I've missed him. "I'm done staying away from you." He whispered while continuing to kissing me more passionately. "Let's meet up in the astronomy tower, midnight." I suggested. He pulled himself away from me and smiled "perfect." I smiled back and quickly rushed out of the closet filled with joy. He also had potions so he wait a minute before following behind me into the class.

Once at Potions I again spent the whole class think about tonight, I could wait to see his face. I barley payed attention to anything the new professor was saying. Snape was our new defence against the dark arts teacher so this year we had someone new named Professor Slughorn who was much more cheerful. Hermione noticed that I was acting weird and she immediately confused. "You're looking happy today (y/n)." she said raising one of her eyebrows. "Oh it's nothing I'm just in a good mood." I said trying to hid my grin. "Alright then." She said still suspecting something was up. " Today we are going to be learning about the amortentia potion, can anyone tell me what that is."
