I smiled and put my phone away, bidding goodbye to my mom and little sister before making my way to the Wendy's.
I see Gem in sight. I run to her, a smile on my face. I see a guy right next to her. I tilt my head then see it's Mattia. I look at Gem, pure confusion taking over my mind. She speaks "We're not the only ones skipping."
I nod and we enter the Wendy's. We all go up to the lady. She smiled and asked Gem "Where are your parents sweetie?" Gem looked offended "Pardon?" The lady spoke "What grade are you in? 7th? 8th?"
Gem looked extremely offended but maintained a professional attitude "Oh! I'm actually a last year in high school." The lady gasped "Oh! I'm so sorry it's just-" Gem finished for her "Me height? It's fine. At least you didn't assume I was in elementary."
After we finished our meal, Gem spoke "7 eleven." I agreed and so did Mattia. Mattia sighed "I didn't bring my money." Gem giggled "It's on me." He went to protest but I explained "She's miss money bags."
Mattia sighed "Still-" Gem flicked his forehead "I get paid for babysitting and doing the reading for my step dad. I've got money. Like she said, I'm miss money bags. I got everything I need, some of what I want but I hate spending money on me. Makes me feel like a spoiled brat. Might as well spend it somewhere and what better way of spending it than my best friend and somewhat new friend? There's not any better way. All my siblings got what they need. We're good."
Mattia agreed, hesitantly of course. We entered and Gem spoke softly "Go crazy." Mattia smirked "Go stupid." We chuckled and walked separate ways, grabbing what we wanted.
