"I thought you were leaving?" James asked, breaking the tense silence.

Hadrian turned to look at his father, Harriet, the darkest corner of the room. They hated the way everyone's gazes snapped to them, how they tracked their every move. While they were used to the attention, and despite Hadrian's flourishing in the spotlight at Hogwarts, even he hated the attention they were getting. It was different from the desire, curiosity, and intrigue they got at school. This attention was that of a hungry beast watching its prey.

Harriet knew what they were thinking, it was impossible not to. Was their friend a Slytherin? Were they from a dark family? It was disgusting, the way they projected their thoughts so loud, how they split the world into light and dark magic.

"Any minute now," Hadrian told them. He felt like laughing, they were assuming that the two were going to be picked up at the same time, by the same person.

"It's that Malfoy bastard, isn't it?" One of the Weasley twins asked. Harriet's gaze subtly switched to them and she identified him as George.

Hadrian clenched his fists to keep calm. Draco was his best friend, and everyone knew it. Even the Weasleys knew, and they had insulted him to his face. It was only his sister's hand subtly signing that kept him grounded, kept him from releasing his anger.

The Weasley twins were never comfortable around the Slytherin twins. It wasn't just that they were Slytherins either. It was because they both seemed to run on shadows, Harriet more than her brother. The Hogwarts crowds seemed to split subconsciously to allow them to pass. Everyone was aware of the shadows surrounding the two, how they twisted their pasts, their friendships, and everything about their lives. So, like anyone else with half a brain, they avoided the twins as much as they could.

"What if it was Malfoy?" Hadrian's cool gaze cut through the room, seemingly tearing apart those on the receiving end.

The Potter parents thought that having a Malfoy in their home was disgusting and inexcusable, the ashy grey color of their face said as much.

"I will not have a Malfoy in my home!" James shouted.

"Or what?" The simple, yet threatening question startled the room and caused them all to take a deep breath.

Hadrian sat there as he had before as his sister stood up gracefully. Breaths caught as those who had not seen her caught sight of her. They stared at the raven curls and perfect curves. They stared as she turned around, revealing the blue and green dragon and a black and white rose, and walked to the fireplace. They watched as she flooed somewhere for only a moment before she returned-this time with a bag. She walked back to her brother, heels clicking dangerously. She handed the bag to Hadrian as she sat back onto his lap.

Many minds reeled as she sat on his lap, looking far more comfortable than any sister should on the lap of her brother. Several were disgusted, many more curious. Though, there were two that knew what was happening; they had seen it happen many times before at parties and even study sessions.

Hadrian pulled out an ace bandage, wrapping it around Harriet's left shoulder. She nodded at her twin once he was done and vanished the bag. Lily was about to ask about it, but the three Marauders shook their heads no.

"So where is your other child?" Harriet spoke, her voice aloft and uncaring.

"You're brother?" Lily asked, almost excitedly.

"Daniel went to a friend's house, but he should be home any minute now," James spoke for Lily, who's bright features had dimmed at the twin's emotionless expressions.
