DAKOTA

I woke up on the Saturday morning feeling sick to my stomach. I'd never been on a date before in my life. I'd never even kissed a boy.

Laura had woken me up at the crack of dawn to get me 'ready'. It felt as though she was more excited than I was.

"Wake up!" She exclaimed. "It's the big day!" I laughed at her enthusiasm as she dragged me to the girls showers. "I'll have outfit options on your bed when you're out. Be quick! I'm owling Morgana to sneak her in so she can help."

I smirked, "So its a two person job to make me look half decent then?"

Laura rolled her eyes at this and strutted out, parchment in hand ready to owl Morgana. I'd introduced the two a few days ago and they'd hit it off just like I had done with the two of them. Morgana almost screamed the entire castle down when she heard I had a date. It warmed my heart that the two of them were so excited for me, I'd never had friends like this back in the muggle world.

I washed my hair and body quickly, not wanting to keep my demanding friend waiting any longer and hurried back to my dorm, a towel wrapped around me as it was so early and I didn't think anyone would be around.

I turned the corner to the common room and immediately felt my arsecheeks smack to the ground. I scrambled to wrap my towel back around my body as I slowly stood up, rubbing my head from the impact.

"Watch where you're going, you filthy- Oh. It's you," Malfoy spat. His eyes traced down my body as he took in what I was wearing- or lack of. My cheeks burned a bright red shade as his silver eyes looked me up and down, the all room familiar obnoxious smirk prevalent on his face.

"I-Sorry. I better g-go," I fumbled over my words, embarrassed by my half-naked state. I rushed past him, but only made it to the first step when I heard him speak lowly behind me.

"You should be careful, strutting around like that. There are Slytherins who would take advantage of your vulnerability, Dakota." The way he said my first name sent shivers down my spine. He'd never used my name before, only my surname.

"Thanks for the tip, Draco." I then headed up to my room, goosebumps still tingling on top of my skin.

DRACO

It sent shivers down my spine thinking about if someone else had bumped into her when she looked like that. They may be my friends but they were not nice boys at all. I shuddered to think about some of the things they bragged about doing at our age but moved on to grab some breakfast, pushing the thought of her out my mind.

My last thought of her was she's an idiot.

I sat down at my usual end of the table and began plating up some toast. I was happily taking my fill by myself for once when I felt someone slump down beside me.

"Great day to be a wizard, aye?" I rolled my eyes at the voice of Orion Lucas.

"What do you want, Lucas?" I said bluntly, not wanting to force a conversation with him.

"Who, me? Nothing at all. Just filling up before my little date." He smirked as he noticed my muscles tense up. Date?

"Where are you planning on taking the lucky mystery girl?" I asked, venom hinting in my voice.

"Oh, she's not a mystery at all. In fact, I think you know her quite well," his smirk still etched onto his face, knowing he was getting under my skin. "I heard you told her to stay away from me, Malfoy. Stay out of my business."

And with that he got up and stalked off to the Slytherin common room.

At least I knew what I was doing for today then.
