Chapter 1 ◇ Alexis' party ◇

Dandelion's perspective:
There's a huge party tonight. I'm going to have to go to it. One of my best friends Alexis Janette is the host and she expects me to be there. It's her 21 birthday soon that's why she's throwing it. I know it seems like I don't want to go but I'm actually a bit excited about it. It's just that Alexis makes a huge deal out of her parties and everything needs to be perfect. I hate perfection; the world is too imperfect for perfection to even be a thing.

Apparently she wants her party to be so perfect that she somehow managed to invite the guys of 5 Seconds of summer to her party. I love 5SOS a lot but I'm not ready to possibly bump into them. I have been a fan of them since I was 14 in 2014 and now I'm nearly 21. I used to have a huge crush on Calum Hood; the bassist of 5SOS. I don't like him the way I used to anymore now. Calum and I would never work in any sort of relationship we're just too different; I'm guessing that he's looking for a long term relationship by now while I on the other hand have no idea what I want; I'm still figuring out what I want to do as a career but he's already got a stable career with the band; I'm just an ordinary woman while he's a well-known celebrity. Don't tell me I'm being silly and that we haven't even met yet and I'm just assuming all of this stuff because I've really thought through this, plus I've been happy for ages without being in a relationship with him and he sure as hell doesn't need a relationship with me to survive.

"Dani do you know what you're wearing tonight?" Lorna asks me. Lorna Daynes and I have been best friends forever since we were 4. She's my roommate now since we decided to go to the same university. "Nope I haven't decided yet Lori" I reply to her. "Me too actually, I think we should do some last minute shopping to find something, you in?" She tells me and suggests we go shopping. "Sure let's do it!" I reply excitedly. We  can't really wear any old dress to this party cause as I mentioned before this party is a huge deal and we need to look our absolute best for it or Alexis might end up saying that she's embarassed to be friends with us. I'm kidding but she wouldn't want us to not look somewhere near to her level of fashionable.

A few hours later we reach the shopping centre. We pick out our dresses, shoes, bags, jewellery and everything else we need and buy them. "I still wonder how she managed to get 5SOS to fly all the way to London from America to be at her party" I tell Lorna as we're walking to the exit of the shopping centre. "She's extremely rich she probably paid like millions of pounds to get them here for her party" she tells me. "I can't imagine having that kind of money" I reply to her. "Me too, Alexis lives her best life" she replies back to me. We then get back to my car and go back to our house.

Night time is finally here which means we need to get ready as quickly as we can cause we can't be late to this party. I put on my new outfit and grab the gift I bought for Alexis and put it in my handbag. I then head towards Lorna's room to see if she needs anything. I knock on her door. "Lori, you need anything?" I ask her. "Nope I'm good, but thanks" she calls from the other side of the door. I then leave her to finish getting ready and go to our living room.

After a few minutes we're both ready so I call us a taxi and tell the driver to take us to the venue of the party. The party is held in the most popular nightclub in the city. Alexis managed to reserve the whole club for her party. We finally reach the nightclub and get out of the taxi and pay the driver. Lorna and I walk into the club.

"Hey Lexi" I greet Alexis as soon as I see her. "Hi Dani, Hi Lori" she greets the both of us. "Hi Lexi" Lorna greets her back. "This is for you" I tell Alexis passing her a gift bag that contains her gift. "Thanks Dani" she replies to me. "You're welcome" I reply back to her. Lorna then passes Alexis the gift she got for her. "Thanks Lori" she tells her. "It's no problem" she replies to her. "I can't believe you're 21 soon!" I tell Alexis. "Me too! Where has time gone?" She replies to me and asks a question. "I don't know" Lorna replies as an answer to Alexis. "So, you girls excited to see 5SOS?!" Alexis exclaims to her. "Of course!" Lorna and I reply excitedly together and laugh.

"Come on let me show you both around here" Alexis tells us. "Sure" Lorna replies. The two of us then follow Alexis as she shows us around the club. We haven't really been here before since it's pretty expensive to go here. First she takes us to the bar area and we order our desired drinks. Next she shows us where the toilets are. Then she shows us around the garden area. "This place is so luxurious!" I tell them. "I know right!" Lorna replies to us. "It's not that grand" Alexis tells us. "You sure about that?" Lorna asks her. "Yep, I've seen grander" she replies to her. "Of course you have" I mumble.

A few hours pass and the party is in full swing. People are dancing, singing, drinking, screaming and everything else that goes on at a party.  We haven't really seen 5SOS and their team around here yet so maybe they're running a bit late. Just then a group of people enter the club and the commotion in the club increases.

All eyes focus on the entrance of the club. My eyes catch sight of my former celebrity crush and I quickly look away. Am I dreaming? "OMG! They're here!" Lorna screams excitedly. Nope definitely not cause that screaming from Lorna would have clearly woken me up. "Let's get this party started!" Michael exclaims. "Mike the party has already started" Calum replies to his best friend and bandmate. "Yes it has, we're late remember" Ashton replies to him too. Michael pouts at his best friends. "Hey at least we're here to make this party more entertaining than it already is!" Luke tells them excitedly. Everyone starts screaming much louder than they were previously.

5SOS and their team then make their way to the bar area to get drinks for themselves, but not without a whole crowd of people following them there. I kind of feel bad for them being followed by those people, like they've just arrived let them relax before you go around following them. Lorna is about to join the people following them but I pull her back to where we are. "Leave them be, they've just arrived" I tell her. She stops and stays at our spot.

After about half an hour 5SOS are about to go on the stage to perform. They set up the stage and then do some quick soundchecks. Once the soundchecks are done and they're sure everything works well they start their performance. It's amazing as always. I get lost in their performance. They're just so talented and attractive. I just want this moment to last forever. But nothing lasts forever and their performance for tonight ends. They get off the stage and people clear out their instruments.

The party is slowly coming towards its end. I'm kind of dizzy from all the partying. I then end up accidentally almost walking into someone. They gently catch me by my shoulders to stop me from walking into them. "Woah there person! You okay?" He asks me. I look up at him. Can you guess who I nearly walked into? Yes you're right, it is the one and only Calum Hood from 5SOS.
