Chapter 3 ◇ Conversations about love ◇

Calum's perspective:
The guys and I go back to the hotel that we're staying at for our time here. "That was fun!" Michael exclaims. "Yeah, it was" I reply to him. "I can't believe we actually played a fan's party and then spent brunch with her and her friends too!" Luke tells us shocked. "Well we did have nothing on our schedule and this gave us an opportunity to do something with our band" I tell him. "That's true" Ashton replies to us. "So, you like any of the girls we met?" Michael asks me. "Oh please! Not this again!" I reply to him. "Why not? Aren't you sick of being single?" He questions me. "No, I'm just waiting for the right person and I'm being patient with my love life" I answer him.

"How would you know if someone is the one if you don't try though?" Luke asks me. "I am trying, I'm just being careful while doing it, I don't want to hurt anyone and I don't want to hurt myself either" I reply to him. "I get that but don't you think it's worth it while looking" Ashton replies to me. "I'm not looking though" I reply to him. "You're telling me you didn't find any of those girls you spent a night and an afternoon with attractive?" Michael asks me. I keep quiet. I did find them attractive especially Dandelion. Shit! What the hell? Shut up mind! "You're crushing on one of them, aren't you?" Michael questions me.

"Oh my God! You guys are worse than those reporters sometimes" I reply to Michael's question. "You're our best friend, we're just curious about your life" Luke tells me. "Alright, but you guys know I'm so fed up of everyone telling me that I need to fall in love" I reply to him. "We know, but we're also worried that you might be missing out on finding your special someone" Ashton tells me. "Just cause all of you have girlfriends it doesn't mean I need to have a significant other" I reply to them. "Okay okay, we'll stop" Luke tells me. "Thank you" I reply to them.

I'm not crushing on Dandelion, am I? I can't be. No I'm not. But I can't stop thinking about her. Hell last night I even dreamt about her. I hardly even know much about her. Yet somehow I still manage to like her. That's crazy.

"I'm going to go for a walk, do any of want to go with me?" I ask my friends. "I'll go with you" Ashton replies to me. "Alright, we'll leave in a few minutes" I tell him. "Sure, I'll just quickly get ready" he replies to me. "Okay, be quick or I'll leave without you" I tell him.

After we have got ready Ashton and I leave the hotel. "So, what's on your mind?" He asks me. "What?" I ask him. "You usually go on random walks to clear your head" he tells me. "Oh yeah, uh nothing" I reply to him. "Oh come on Cal, you know you can tell me anything, right?" He tells me. "I just uh I don't think I can" I tell him. "Why are you getting all awkward all of a sudden?" He replies a question back. "I just um I don't know, okay?" I answer him. "I think you could use some advice on something" he replies to me. "I guess so" I reply to him.

Thank God it's quiet around here! I hate that we have to worry about paparazzi, fans and everyone else following us around. "I uh I think I like someone" I blurt out. "You do?!" He asks kind of shocked. "Yeah, please don't tell anyone" I tell him. "Why not?" He asks me. "It's just that I hardly know her and I don't want to get anyone's hopes up about me possibly dating someone" I tell him. "I get it, you don't think it's gonna work out?" He replies and asks a question. "It's the first time I'm actually crushing on someone again in years, I feel like a teen again, I'm kinda freaked out to be honest, love is a terrifying thing, you know?" I tell him. "Yeah, I know, you just got to go for it sometimes though, you really never know if it'll really work out or not unless you try" he replies.

Just then we see two ladies walking in the opposite direction of us but towards us. "Shit! Ash We need to go" I reply pulling him by the arm to turn back. "Wait, what? Why? What happened?" He asks me. "I saw her" I reply to him. "Saw who?" He asks. "The girl I'm crushing on" I reply to him. "Oh! And you're running away from her?" he asks me. "Yes, don't slow down we can't let them notice us" I reply to him.

We're finally out of sight from them. "So, who exactly is this person you're crushing on?" He asks me. "Dandelion" I tell him. "You mean the girl from brunch that time?" He asks me to confirm. I nod in confirmation. "I think she likes you too to be honest" he replies to me. "Really?" I ask him. "Yeah, you should ask her to hang out with you" he replies to me. "We're only here for a month, I don't know if that's a good idea" I tell him. "Why not make the most of your time here?" He asks me.

"I don't even know if she's single" I tell him. "Dude, you will never find out if you keep running away from her like you just did" he replies to me. "I guess you're right" I reply back to him. "What do you say we walk back there and see if we see her again?" He asks me. "I suppose it won't hurt to" I reply to him. "Come on quick! We might miss them" he replies to me.

Ugh I'm so nervous! Ashton is really trying to make me see her again so soon. I don't know if I'm ready for this though. What do I even say to her? I was so awkward even just thinking about her. "What you thinking about?" Ashton asks me. "I can't do this" I reply to him. "Why not?" He asks me. "I just uh I don't know what to say to her" I reply to him. "Fine, let's go back, just promise me you won't run away the next time you see her?" He replies back. "I promise" I reply and the two of us walk back to the hotel we're staying at.
