- Sesame Syrup by Cigarettes After Sex -

Draco

I had been getting a ton of grief from Crabbe and Goyle about being stuck in detention with that pathetic Bella Blackwater lately.

Well... she wasn't pathetic. As much as I liked to tell her she was. She sure had a big mouth though, she never seemed to back down from me. Which was bloody annoying. I guess I admired her strength and determination though, not everyone stands up to me. In fact, many few do.

Thankfully, they've seemed to finally shut up about it the past week or two. Although they've shut their mouths about Blackwater, they haven't about what happened with Moody. Forget it, I hate thinking about it. Anyway, all it takes is for me to shoot them a look before they swallow whatever they were about to say next.

I was sitting in the Great Hall with Pansy, helping her with her bloody Charms homework. Well, helping was an overstatement. I was just sitting next to her while she complained about how ridiculous the class was.

I tuned out her complaints and looked all over the hall and found Blackwater sitting on the Gryffindor table with her annoying little friends, laughing amongst them. You could hear her laugh above every other noise that emerged from the hall.

One person though, I didn't usually see her with. It wasn't necessarily that I've really taken notice on who she spends time with. Of course not.

But, I hadn't seen her sit with him before. Blue Silverling.

Her laugh continued, and he sat quite close to her, grinning at her, hanging on her every word. It was more than a friendly closeness.

It wasn't rare to see her smiling or laughing. Some people would be envious of a person who had that much light and happiness in them. The only times I'd see her angry or upset, was when I talked to her. I enjoyed riling her up. It was amusing to me to see her get so frustrated. She always had something say to back to me.

"Draco?" Pansy nudged me with her elbow, "What are you staring at?"

Shit, had I been staring at Blackwater for that long?

"Uh... nothing".

"Okay, well as I was saying-" Pansy continued to talk but I could feel her words fade into the background as I tried to find somewhere else to focus my stare at, but I couldn't ignore the sounds of Blackwaters laughter. God, she was insufferably loud.

Bella

"Ok, is it just me or was Draco Malfoy staring at you for a concerning amount of time?" Isadora whispered, leaning into me and Blue. Hermione and Ginny glanced over their shoulders to Malfoy, who was sitting with Pansy Parkinson. He wasn't staring at me, and I hadn't noticed him staring at me all before.

"What? I doubt it. Weird" I chuckled. I could feel Blue glaring in his direction, "He's a fucking dick. I would just love to kick his face in."

Draco wouldn't have been staring at me. And if he was, it was because he was probably planning his next confrontation with me. Before now, we would hardly speak to each other. When we did, obviously it would be him giving us shit and me dishing it back. As you do.

But lately, it seemed like he was going out of his way to annoy me. He needed a serious attitude check. Maybe Pansy would whip him into shape, although I doubted it. Malfoy doesn't seem like the type of boy to be "changed".

I still thought about our talk by the lake to this day. It had been two weeks since, and we still hadn't talked. I was glad. I was getting closer to Blue, and I was excelling in most of my classes. Things were going well. But I just couldn't stop thinking about the way Draco was looking at me. He had never looked at me like that before. Or maybe I was overthinking. Draco Malfoy was definitely not worth overthinking about.
