Draco

Fuck.

The side of my face was pounding, that git Silvering had not held back. Pain erupted from the impact, I could still feel his anger. I couldn't believe he had the nerve to punch me though. My father would definitely hear about this.

I had really pissed Silverling off. Good, I despised that tosser. He walked around so bloody proud all the time, with his arm around Bella. The way he held her looked like he was claiming her as his property. They weren't even dating, and he had the nerve to claim her as his.

I didn't know much about Bella, but I knew she'd never date someone as pitiful as him. His only personality trait was being good at quidditch. How riveting...

I couldn't see her being happy with him. He didn't challenge her.

But maybe they'd prove me wrong. However, I didn't exactly want them to.

I hadn't gone to the hospital wing after Granger's brutal punch to my nose last year. And although Silverling had hit me harder, I wasn't about to let everyone know that I was in there because of that git. Instead, I stumbled down the corridor where Silverling and Bella had disappeared into. I expected them to have been gone by then, already back in the Gryffindor common room by then but their voices stopped me right in my tracks.

They were right around the corner, and I could hear everything they were saying. I quietly slumped against the wall and tried to keep my breath silent.

"You can't pretend like he didn't have a part to play in that... why are you defending him?" "Because he wasn't the one who landed me there, I've never even seen him be violent with anyone before!"

They were talking about me.

"Whatever, Bella. I don't have to come to your rescue anymore. All you have to do is ask"

Rescue? She didn't need bloody rescuing. Unless of course, Millicent was threatening her to fight her. Bella wasn't exactly the most talented at fistfighting, as I had found out a few weeks ago. If that was the case, then yes. She would need to be rescued.

But other than that, the girl could hold her own.

"My rescue?! I'm not your bloody damsel in distress. I don't need to be rescued"

Good girl.

I sat in the library, mindlessly glancing over the words on the page in front of me. I was 'studying', but really I just needed some quiet alone time from Crabbe and Goyle. Constantly having to tell them to shut up was a monotonous task.

"Malfoy. I wanted to apologise for Blue punching you in the face yesterday. That wasn't like him."

I look up and see Bella Blackwater standing over me. She looked nervous, her face painted with uncertainty.

I was confused. Why was she sorry? Shouldn't she have been delighted? I was being a bit of an arse to her.

I glanced around to make sure nobody was around seeing me talk to her. Fortunately, not many students opted to hang out in the library on a Saturday night.

"Don't be. It didn't hurt" I lied, looking back down at the book. However, she could still see right through me, "Bollocks. You were practically whimpering." she scoffed, sitting down across from me.

Why did she sit down? She had been ignoring me for weeks and now she wanted to have a conversation? I didn't understand this girl.

"I'm sure you would've loved to have taken his place and you hit me instead"
