"let's go on a date."

you said non-chalantly, while drying your freshly showered hair.

i was quite taken aback and was speecheless for awhile.

"what?  you don't wanna go?"

you inquired, taking my silence as an instant no.

"no that's not it! i'd go anywhere with you ash, i was just quite surprised how suddenly and calmly you asked that."

i smiled, containing the excitement that was threatening to burst out of me in the form of hugging you very tightly.

"well, we are lovers aren't we? and don't most lovers go on dates."

you said shooting your doe eyes toward me.

a red blush creeped its way onto my cheeks as the words 'lovers' so smoothly rolled of your tongue.

lovers.

that's right. that's what we are now. after everything that had happened, the facts only started to come together in my head.

you and me. lovers.

the shade of red already dancing on my cheeks grew into a darker shade.

"what's with the blushing okumura, it's just a date not whatever nasty is going through your head."

you teased.

i smacked you playfully on your arm denying such an audacious statement.

a couple of hours later, we were all ready to go.

"so where are we headed to today ash?"

"wherever the day takes us i suppouse."

a laugh escaped my lips. you were always the type to plan ahead of almost everything.

so it was amusing to hear you say something so not you.

making our way out the apartment building, you led us towards a cafe i'd never known about before.

which to be fair, is only reasonable since we'd recently only moved to this area .

on the way to the cafe, you took us on a really scenic route.

where trees decorated with colourful flowers, swayed so in-sync with the wind.

and the water flowing underneath a bridge we crossed passed by with such a soothing sound.

while the clouds above us shifted around letting sunlight pass through every now and then.

i sighed contented.

i was happy.

happy to be walking around on such a beautiful day.

but most importantly, i was happy to be able to share this beautiful day, walking, engulfed in the arm of my lover.

"you know, this is our first date and my very first date too."

i stated matter-of-factly.

"what, first date with a guy?"

"no. first date ever."

i said stopping, and staring into the entrancing green gems, that you called your eyes.

you smiled, showing off your beautiful pearly-whites.

it took all the strength i had to not melt right there and then, being exposed to such a beautiful and bright smile.

"you're such a virgin eiji."

you laughed, interlocking your hands with mine and facing the other away.

who'd have known even the mighty ash lynx could blush as hard as you did that day.
