Chapter 21

I smile to myself as I walk into the company building the next day, nodding at the employees I walk past. Yesterday was my favourite, the fact that Jungkook and I had fun together without any problems or disturbing made me happier.

My eyebrows furrow in confusion as I see a lady moving towards my direction in hurry. I stand still as I see her get closer, smiling softly as she stands right in front of me. "Miss Soe Yeon", she greets as her lips form a smile, I nod back at her, waring for her to say more, "Miss Chaeyoung told me to inform you that someone is waiting for you in your office, she says she tried to contact you but she couldn't".

I tilt my head slightly at her, someone here to see me? My mood instantly dropped as my mind flew to the only person who would come this early in the morning to see me, my stepmom. I politely thank the lady and start moving towards my office, my hands in fists as I quickly start walking.

Does she not get the hint? Why won't she just leave me alone and continue with her own life? My father clearly doesn't want me anywhere near him, if he really did, he would've met up with me himself, but instead, she's always following me. I roll my eyes as I near the office, head full with thoughts of how I will convince her to stay away from me, forever if possible.

Once I reach the office door, I look at Chaeyoung, who was too busy observing the woman in front of her, my stepmother. I nearly start laughing as I see Chaeyoung force a smile at my stepmother, her eyes never leaving the elder woman. I clear my throat to grab thier attention, Chaeyoung instantly looks my direction and smiles.

"Soe Yeon", she says while smiling, "I'd like to speak to you outside if you don't mind". I walk outside and face Chaeyoung, a playful smirk on my lips.

"I guess you got comfortable with her?"

"No, what the hell, who is she? She clearly doesn't like you", Chaeyoung replies, a frown places her lips, "She started looking in the drawers and all, thought she'd steal something if I leave her alone so I stayed with her. Everything about her screams fake".

"I'll tell you later, I have to deal with her now", I say as I take a glace at the woman inside. With that I leave Chaeyoung and move towards my step mother, rolling my eyes at her once my eyes meet hers, closing the door behind me.

"Do you not get the hint", I ask her, my eyes never leaving hers, "I don't want you here, or in my apartment, or anywhere near me. I know my dad doesn't want me, so what is it that you really need from me".

"I really misunderstood you Soe Yeon, I never took you as the type to use men," she responded, making me furrow my eyebrows, "but guess you really are good at hiding the truth".

"Are you crazy, just leave already, all you do is frustrate me, go back to using my dad only for his money", with that, she glares at me, her fists clenching, she slowly stands up from the chair and stands in front of me.

"We're both the same Soe Yeon, you did exactly what I did. So, tell me who'd you get him attached to you? Did you tell him you'd pay him back after all of this is over or something", she giggles lightly as she speaks, "Or did you seduce him, oh 'cause if you did, you really are something. I always thought you'd end up surprising me somehow, even thought I don't like you".

I stay quite, waiting for more to come, "Or is he your sugar daddy?" she freezes and looks into my eyes, my hands grab onto my cloths to stop me from smacking her across the face, "If he is, Soe Yeon, you deserve a clap".

"Get out"

"Oh I am not wrong?" she asked, looking down at my hands then back at me, her lips form a small smirk, "But what if I don't, what will you do then? Kick me out yourself?"
