Your and Sherry's small heels clicked the road as Leon's heavy boots trailed behind. You push the record player and Leon pulling the light coffin along gently behind you all. Coming up to the fresh dug hole you place the record player by the set up bench. You then instructed Leon to wrap two ropes on each side of the coffin. He does so and you both hoist the frame from the wagon. Slowly lowering the large box into the ground the sun was about to set. Sherry cranks the dial on the player causing Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata" to fill the dim tense air. Sherry sat on the bench as you handed her her bouquets. "My mom wasn't around much. She was always working. She told me that this was all her fault this whole mess was all her fault she said. When this first started I was infected but my mom saved me. She worked at Umbrella and gave me the cure. She saved me and I left her." Sherry started to break, crying hunched over sitting on the bench. You quickly sat down next to her wrapping your arm around her little waist and she leaned on you. "Sherry there was nothing you could have done. She did the only thing she could, protect you." Leon came and sat on the other side wrapping his large arm around the child's waist like you. You were both trying to do your best to comfort her. Sherry started to stand as you let her up. She stood making her way over to the deep still open grave. She drops the flowers into the hole as they scatter across the lid of the coffin. "I love you mom." She whispered as she made her way back to you two. Leon got up and started filling the hole you went to get up and help but he ushered you back down while Sherry lays her exhausted head on you. Her eyes puffed up and her expression sad and worn. She was so exhausted from crying she was loopy. You let her stay as she gradually falls asleep to the music and the continual sound of shovel on dirt. When Leon was finished he realised you were just watching him with a dazed look and a sleeping child on your arm. "I got her" You whisper to him as you gently pick her up. "I have worked you over time today." He gave you a genuine smile as you two made your way back home. Leon pushed home the player as you held onto little Sherry. Your heals clicked his boot tromped; Sherry buried her head into your chest as Leon watched. The sun was set now it had been a few hours since the initial funeral. The only thing lighting your way was the dim yellow glow of the lantern Leon held. Leon held open the door as you brought the sniffling little girl in. It exhausted you to see this little girl in your arms worked up. You take off her shoes and lay her in the bed giving her a slight peck on the forehead. You closed her door till only a crack remained. You headed for your room disregarding Leon. You sat on the edge of your bed as you bent down to take off your heels not noticing Leon standing in the doorway. "You were brave for that little girl (Y/N)." you place your heels in the closet pulling out a pair of shorts and a t-shirt. "I did what I could." You make your way to the bathroom to change as Leon leaves to get changed.
You'll Be In My Heart scenario
Changing into the t-shirt and shorts you exit to see Leon slumped over in your desk chair. Wearing only a black tank top and boxers you blush slightly. Your hair now down you slowly lead Leon to your bed as your (H/T) covers your shoulders. Motioning him to sit he does but eventually collapses over onto the pillow as you climb into the other side. He rolls over to face you "I love your (H/T) (Y/N)." You lay down hair spreading over the pillow as he strokes it gently. "And I love yours Leon." You lean into his chest as he wraps an arm around you. He gives you a small but loving kiss as you both flutter asleep. What seemed like not long past when you heard your door open. You and Leon quickly jolted up realizing a little figure stood in the door frame you both relaxed. Sherry rushes over to the edge of the bed in tears. You caught her just as she was about to hit the bed still in her dress. "I miss my mom." She sobbed allowed but all you could do was cradle her. She cried as you pulled her up onto the bed between you and Leon. You hoped the radiating love from you both would be enough to calm her down but it wasn't. You did what you thought was right and you sang. "Come stop your crying, it'll be alright just take my hand hold it tight. I will protect you from all around you. I will be here, don't you cry." Sherry nuzzled into you and Leon as he wrapped his arms around you two a bit more he started to sing recognizing the song. "For one so small you seem so strong. My arms will hold you, keep you safe and warm.. This bond between us can't be broken. I will be here, don't you cry." You look up at him as The little one was reduced to only peeps. You both sang the next parts together hoping to put Sherry to sleep. "Cuz you'll be in my heat yes you'll be in my heart. From this day on now and forever more.... You'll be in my heart no matter what they say you'll be here in my heart always." A soft little girl snuggle between the two of you breathed with only a few hiccups now and then fast asleep. You two slowly laid down to try and not wake the newly slumbering girl. "We are getting good at this." he whispered to you. You gave him a smile and a quiet exhale "Ya it's like we're already parents." You joked as you both took your leave once more.
Baby mine scenario
Leon went to his room as you warmed down in your bed covered in thick blankets. The cold of the night swept in through the open window as you went deeper in your covers. You finally get to sleep after a while of trying. A few hours into the night you hear your door creek open. You instantly jump up grabbing your bedside knife. You then see the little silhouette in the door frame. Sherry walks in a bit but starts to lowly sob. "(Y/N) I miss my mom." Tears stained her pail cheeks as you ushered her over to you. She hugged you, dampening your long shirt. she flung herself onto the bed so her head was in your lap. You combed your fingers through her hair as she started to calm. You started singing hoping it would calm her down. "Baby mine don't you cry...............Baby mine dry your eyes. Press your head close to my heart never to part baby of mine. Little one when you play don't you mind what they say..... let those eyes sparkle and shine never a tear baby of mine." You sang this lullaby like your grandma sang to you. All from Sherry were sniffles and peeps. Unknowing to you Leon saw Sherry pass his open door while trying to sleep. He stood leaning in the doorway as you stroked sherry's hair singing to her. "From your head to your toes, your so sweet goodness knows... you are so precious to me, cute as can be baby mine." You finished your slow serenade as Sherry was fast asleep on your lap. Leon walks over sitting on the other side of the bed next to you "you're so beautiful (Y/N)." you take your hand placing it on his opposite cheek and turn his face toward you. You then give him a loving kiss on the cheek as you still cradle Sherry. "Shes been through so much." You were so exhausted and he could tell. He laid you down turning Sherry to lay on the pillow in the middle of you two. He lays on the other side of Shery, the little girl between the two of you. "I know but so were you and me we all have to take care of each other." He grabs your hand and you hold his losely. "We need to protect her, she's strong but so young." You smile down at the sleeping little one between you two. You both fell asleep Sherry cuddling into your soft side.
