Chapter 1: debris field

O.S.S Bismarck this is comms room. Send images to the commander that we have a debris field showing a derelict ship floating through space.

"Comms confirmed. Images and footage sent to captain. Orders are to scout ship for origins and survivors." The lady said back over the ship radio.

Commander Cheilds was in his cabin and was supposed to be sleeping for his night cycle when the call rang out that an unknown ship came into view on the commanding deck. Turned out to be a wreck and looked like it was blown part during some sort of attack or severe storm in space.

Captain Cheilds was getting up from his bed in his quarters and pressed the button for comms and said, "tell the command deck that I'll be down to see this ship. ETA?"

Comms woman cane through, "ten minutes commander."

He nodded while scratching his head and yawning, "I'll be there. Over."

"Over." Then the comms buzzed and sound shut off. The commander was left in his quiet quarters again. He went over to his bathroom and washed his face and rinsed his mouth with sown wash then went back and put on his uniform jacket. He'd slept in his pants and everything else but instead of wearing the formal uniform coat he decided he would wear his exercise hoodie with the ship name and fleet Stars and Stripes on the back that had a globe of earth on the stars part. 

The earth now was known as the United Globalization or UG. Every continent had the same flags and fleets to defend the Earth since the discovery of long space flight and alien life.

Now Cheilds was zipping up his hoodie to keep warm in the cold of space and headed for the elevator that took him down one floor to the command deck. Once down he passed the holo map and headed to the front deck. He asked his staff to show him the wreck and they cleared the opaque glass and he said, "we might be able to find valuable items or tech so how long till the ground team is ready?"

Comms tech spoke up and she said, "they got back to me and said ready in five minutes commander."

He nodded and told her well done then waited.
The ground team was made up one two men and one woman. Liana Knightly was the woman on the ground crew. She was short but skilled in hacking tech and not bad for a rifleman. Also she could learn new languages and decipher alien hieroglyphs to hack into alien ships. Little miss 5'4, hair like a wavy sea and the color of the sunset above it. She was fire on board this ship and everyone who tried asking the feisty woman out was told by none other than her to "fuck right off." She worked hard for her job and wasn't going to risk it by dating on the job and causing drama on the ship.

All ready and set to go the ground team was in the landing shuttle that was going to take them close to the ship but then one of the men was going to shoot an anchor cable that the team could clip onto and do a space jump to the wreck.

When they reached the derelict they unclipped from the cable and their magnetic boots kept them on board the ship. Walking along Knightly opened after hacking what doors were still powered enough to be locked. Not much of the ship was left floating in space except for what looked like a medical bay and another room that had tubes of large blizzard like animals and one then in the back that was lit up still and full of orange and red liquid. The tube was huge and looked like a sealed medical bed that could hold a very large man. Knightly thought is was just a body or blood inside but her scans of the tube showed that inside was a growing embryo.

"Gross. Hey guys this test tube is actually an alien baby. What should we do commander?" She asked after taking another scan and a closer look.

Comms came through and the captain said, "extract it and pull out. Derick is going to bomb the site to clean up the trail."

Knightly rolled her eyes. They guys got to bomb everything and she was stuck with packing and shipping duty. She read the alien instructions after deciphering how to unlock the tube and dragging it with her to the shuttle. After she secured it in the shuttle the guys came over and asked her what that was. She told them what she knew for now and figured pay day was coming from it. After a few hoots over comms to the captain that they were pulling away they made it back safely.

Back on the Bismarck the bomb went off cleaning all wreckage and the pulled away with their new cargo in the holding bay.
While it was in there Liana would scan it and write down her findings on how it worked and what could be inside it. Besides the fact an alien was growing inside but what kind was what she wanted to know. Then her computer pinging after doing a lengthy scan of the fluid inside and showed it was an alien called the Youtja. She knew what they were and knew that if their kind knew what they'd taken they would hunt everyone in the ship down for trophies. She went to the commander and spoke with him warning him they needed to get rid of the tube as soon as possible. To that he said, "no worries carrot head we've already got a buyer for that and I'm waiting for them to dick with us to collect the package and our payment."

She sighed relieve that it wouldn't be long and went to the crew quarters to sit back and wait. She knew that the captain would show off his ground crew who found the items they sold like he always did so she was ready when comms called for her and the other two. They showed up, Liana last, and shook hands while the tube was being taken by some scientists onto their ship. Liana didn't like how this was taking a lot longer than any other transfer but she was waiting patiently till one of the men came over and said the scientists wanted to ask her something.

"Is it true you can read and translate their language?" She didn't understand why it mattered but Shepard didn't like the feeling of her two groundsmen behind her while the scientist was in front of her with his two guards. She nodded anyway and that's when she felt a prick on the side of her neck. When she fought back things got dark and she fell asleep. The scientists guards took her with them and the scientist explained, "we'll need her for when the embryo grows. We need to know how to maintain the tube and open it for when the time comes and with what little we know it will take 50years till the cycle in the tube is done with what we believe will be a full grown alien."

Cheilds felt bad but felt even more better having a half million credits more than usual for him and his crew. Shepard was left to be frozen and woke up when that I embryo was full grown.

While in her own sleeping tube she could think but not move just like in a coma. Her thoughts as the new ship pulled away was , I swear as soon as you let me out of here I'll make friends with that monster and kill all of you!
