Power of the past

The attic door creaked open as Lucia walked up the stairs holding the new clothes for Pheonix. She placed them at the end of the cot and started to walk away but Pheonix stopped her with a question.

"Hey, do you know anything about our powers?"

"I know a decent amount, why?"

"I think I have a power you guys didn't tell me about."

"Really?! What is it?"

"Well, the other day- the other month when I kissed Athena I saw her memories from the part of time where I was gone."

"There is a lot to unpack there, firstly you kissed Athena?! Secondly what do you mean you saw her memories like all of them?"

"Well yea we kissed but the flashbacks from her made me stop and then well the alarm went off and you know the rest. But yea I saw all of them, every single memory flashed before me and now they just live in my brain."

"But you just got the memories from the time you were gone?"

"Yeah..."

"Hold on I'm gonna try something don't freak out."

"What are yo-" Lucia kissed him and just like that the memories of the months he was gone flashed before him. He was like a ghost in the moments they had already lived. He stood in the room where they portaled out of.

"He is gonna be just fine I promise"

"Well what if he's not, I don't know you or anyone here I know him though, I know what things he does in situations and what he will say when someone scares him. He needs me!"

"Athena it's not safe for you out there."

"Then it's not safe for him."

"Listen the people he went with, they are strong and they will protect him."

The portal opened up and a bloodied Angel flew through. Pheonix's ghostly body rushed over to her but he realized he was living their moments and not his own.

"Angel oh my god are you okay?"

"Lucia they need you in there, Komono he- they need you."

"Stay here with Athena make sure she doesn't go through the portal."

The memory glitched as she went through the portal and the chaos he had faced months ago was reliving itself right in front of him. A dark portal opened up and the beings in the suits jumped through leaving the ruins of their actions behind them. Then he saw it, his body and Arthur trying to heal him. 

"What the hell happened?!" 

"Lucia he-he's dead."

"No, he can't be dead! ARTHUR FIX HIM!"

"I CAN'T"

"Shit... what are we going to tell the mortal... Arthur try again!"

"he's gone..." 

Sirens started to ring in the distance. They all looked at each other and Sara placed a bracelet upon his body making him invisible to mortals. Indigo opened the portal and the bruised star children staggered through. But Arthur stayed behind for a minute trying to heal the limp body of a new and now dead star child. The memory glitched again to Lucia walking through the portal, Athena was looking for Pheonix but by the time the portal closed she knew what happened. A single tear fell down her fury stricken face.

"Athena... I'm sorry."

"Save it bitch."

Athena ran off to the empty room of Pheonix. The memory started to glitch out again but it was different this time as he was pulled out of the memory of Lucia. He opened his eyes to Lucia pulling her lips away from his.

"So? Did you see anything?"

"no... Must have been a fluke."

"Oh well, get ready for dinner."

Lucia left and the memory of his cold body burned itself into the mind of an already traumatized Pheonix. The look in Athena's eyes when he didn't come through the portal broke him, his arm started to shake and a wave of newfound anger emerged itself from his core. Before he knew it his hand was through a window, the blood was warm again as it dripped from his forearm. The red substance covered his arm and fell onto the floorboards. The cut started to heal as it did before, he grabbed the cloth covering a box near him and wiped the blood off. He got dressed and prepared to see the faces of the people he hurt.
