"So today I will meet Daichi's parents, huh?"
Suga would be concerned under normal circumstances but the fact that Daichi was so calm and relaxed helped him stay cool. "It'll be fine", he thought, "there's nothing to lose anyways. I'm sure it's going to be alright."
Suga was impressed by the suburbs Daichi led him through since he rarely got to see any from up close. Now he was walking through them. Each house looked similar to the neighboring ones but something was always different. The terraced houses were not too big and not too small. They had a moderate size and every house comes with a moderate garden behind it and a moderate front yard. Decoration was up to the ones living in the house, therefore some were more decorated and well cared for than others but not even one looked remotely bad.
While Suga got lost in his thoughts, Daichi decided to speak up.
"It's nothing special."
"It is for me."
"You are for me."
Both boys chuckle as Suga replies: "Well you're special to me, too."
As they continue their way to Daichi's home, Suga still can't get his mind away from all the houses. "How many houses are there? What kind of people live here? And how many? And for how long? Do they know each other? Do they regularly talk? And how about the cliché of for example walking each other's dog when someone is unable to do so? Or what do their gardens look like? Or how are they decorated? Or what do they look like from the inside? Or-"
Suga's train of thoughts gets interrupted as he suddenly bumped into Daichi who stopped walking and is now laughing at him.
"Wow, Suga, is it really that interesting for you that you don't even pay attention to where you're going?"
"Stop laughing! Yes, it's interesting, ok? I'm just wondering a lot about what kind of people live here and if or how they communicate with each since they live so close together..."
"It's pretty common for people here to be on good terms with their neighbors and help out whenever someone has a problem or trouble with something."
"That's so cool! I don't have any neighbors so I never knew it's like a real community. I bet most people here are very friendly."
"They are."
"You have a garden, too, don't you?"
"Yeah" Daichi grinned "And we even have a volleyball net."
Suga's surprised was clearly visible. "Oh my god. That's really cool!"
"I can show you if you want?"
"Yes please!"
"I'll do that then. But aside from that... do you wanna come inside then?"
"Yes, sure", Suga replied now more excited as Daichi approaches his door and proceeds to unlock the door.
"Ah, one more thing... I should have probably mentioned that I have younger siblings..."
"You what?! Why didn't you tell me? Wait... does anybody know? I never heard about this even once!"
"Haha- I don't think anybody knows."
"But why?"
"I don't know... I just don't really enjoy revealing too much about my personal life..."
Suga pauses for a bit. "Understandable... but wow..."
"And it's nothing special anyways..."
"That's not the first time you've said something like this, Daichi..."
"Because it just isn't..."
"That's not true! I think it is! Everything is special in its own way! Don't put yourself down like that!"
"I'm not putting myself down!"
"Then stop saying that it's nothing special!"
"But it isn't-"
"Daichi!", Suga interrupted, "anyways. How old are they?"
"My sister is 8 years old and my brother 7."
"Aww. That's cute." He smiles.
A small look of relief swept through Daichi's face. "So it's not a problem?"
"No! No, of course not! What makes you think that?"
Daichi thought for a bit before answering. "Well some people have a problem with smaller children. So I just wanted to make sure."
"But what if I would have said yes?"
After moments of silence Daichi answers. "I don't really know... I guess I would have send them to their rooms for the time being..."
Suga laughed a bit. "Oh my god, Daichi... if you'd really do that I'd rather just deal with it that letting you lock them in their rooms."
"I'm sure it would've been fine."
"Well... I guess we can be glad that nobody has to lock anyone up." He smiles.
Daichi smiles, too. "True. Well then", he says as he opens the door and enters, followed by Suga.
"I'm home-", Daichi starts as he gets interrupted by a loud scream of "Oniiiiii-chan!!!!" as a little girl comes running towards the entrance. "Welcome home!!"
