𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗼𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗱,a man who looked desperate tried to crawl out,his inconherent words that he mumbled out turned deaf to Y/N.Her e/c eyes only stared at the figure boredly.
Why didn't she help him?You might ask.'If he doesn't have the power to go through this,he'll die during the other phases.'She'll say with a tone of judgement.
"decite."
"be careful."
"follow me."
As soon as her attention was brought back to the examiner who had finished his speach that she only heard certain keywords,a man who looked badly hurt and bruised crawled from the corner.His lifeless eyes warned the participants.
"This guy is a Man-Faced ape,they're weak creatures that camouflage as people.I'm the real examiner!It's best if you follow me,he is planning to eat you in large groups!"
His tone held desperation,that was all to fake to the H/C girl,there were too many loopholes in the story.But it seems many participants were now hesitant of Satoz.
'Why was the examiner only here now?'
'If he was,why would Satoz have the key to open the gate for Phase 1."
'A good hunter can't be that easily defeated by a-'
Her train of thoughts was stopped as she heard cards stabbing through the so-called examiner's head.While Satoz caught them with ease.Hisoka then proceded with his narraration like those villains in RPGs.
"Examiners are hunters that do this for free,of course they have to be competent enough to e-"
"No.44,I understand your intentions but if you do it again,I'll consider this as harming an examiner and you'll fail."
"Of course.~"
The red haired magician licked his dry lips in a teasing matter.
"Now that was an example of one of the monsters in this forest.I see a portion of people that was hesitant to trust me.If you keep this up,you'll be killed in this forest.Anyways,let's head off."
The girl cringed in disgust as the muddy ground was staining her shoes,the texture allowed her to sink in a bit before she followed the group,taking her mind off of whats unnesscary.
She looked around,there was butterflies flying and people dropping.There was a fume from the mushrooms that also disfigured and killed a few participants.Y/N shook her head mentally and followed the majority.A part of her was winced at the thought of them dying,they might of had a loving family but they died here.But it was expected as they wanted to be hunters.
"Kurapika,Leorio and Y/N,Killua said its better to go in front!"
"IF I COULD I WOULD GON."
Leorio huffed out.
"GON WE ARE OBVIOUSLY NOT ABLE TO CATCH UP SO PLEASE DON'T SHOVE IT IN OUR FACES!"
Y/n cried.
"IT'S FINE,JUST GO AHEAD WITHOUT US,WE'LL CATCH UP!"
Kurapika assured the small boy.
Leorio shook his head and sighed,but in front of them was a strange sight.People started twisting and dropping.The trio stopped,confusion shown on their faces.A participant decided to walk ahead,well that was a mistake as he was in the mouth of a huge strawberry turtle-like creature.
This caused panic in the group,participants fleeing in several directions,only catching the eye of the monsters surrounding them.Leorio suddenly flew up,he held a branch in the creatures mouth to avoid being eaten.He had a look of distress as Kurapika got in a stance then chopping the eyes of the creature,it let out a low groan.The old-man looking teenager was falling,well a h/c girl caught him though.
"Dammit Leorio you're so heavy!"
"Tsk!It's Mr.Leorio!!"
"Guys,we should get away,it's dangerous here."
"Agreed."
The pair of childish teens said in sync.
As they were running aimlessly,Leorio stopped everyone."Guys look its Hisoka!"Kurapika held an arm out,blocking them to signal that they should observe the situation.
Hisoka looked as if he was outnumbered by other participants.It all changed with a turn of his fingers,the card somehow sliced the circle of people,blood spewed out from their wounds as they lifelessly fell to the ground.His tall figure approached the last man standing,well he was trembling and crawling away from the magician.
His eyes lost their life as a joker card was implanted in his head.Y/N's mouth dropped in horror,she didnt know the full story but this was horrifying.Who knows what he could do to her friends.Before she knew it,Hisoka walked slowly to where the three were hiding ,with a card between his fingers.
"Would you like to play the examiner game aswell~?"
The three stated in horror,they were going to die.Kurapika yelled out,"On my signal we run in seperate directions!"Hisoka raised an eyebrow in interest.The three of them got in stances,Kurapika on the left,Y/N in the middle and Leorio on the right.
"3..
"2.."
"1!"
The three of them dashed as quickly and as far their legs could carry them.Y/N halted when she heard a battlecry from Leorio.Her gut told her to keep running but what she did was going back for him.
She paused as there was an extra person here,Gon?!Seeing Leorio quickly get punched made her approach him,patting his cheeks and checking his breathing hurriedly.
"My..my~What do we have here?"
Hisoka licked his lips as he dodged Gon's attacks like it was nothing.His bloodlust released,shocking the two of them.While Gon struggled under Hisoka's tight grasp,Y/N could only quiver in fear,were their lives really gonna end now?She still had goals to achieve and friends to protect.An idea popped up but it wasn't a really bright one.While Hisoka had his attention on Gon,She threw her heavy bag at him,a thud was heard as it only fell to the ground."Oh?"
The small fight ended as a stoic voice was heard through an walkie-talkie."I'll make sure your friend is safe since all of you passed,be a good good girl and boy and make it through the end~."He said in a teasing matter,he hung Leorio over his shoulder and ran off.Before Y/N could think,her knees went weak,plopping onto the muddy ground.Her figure still shivering from the past incident,it seems her world was slowly turning black.
As she fluttered her eyes open,she saw a worriee Gon,Killua,Leorio and Kurapika staring at her."Oi,old hag what happened..?"Y/N sheepishly scratched her head."Ah,looks like I am super scared of Hisoka.I'm...sorry for dragging you down.."
