Sheffield, England"No no..I-No, that one isn't gonna work.." I huff, holding the phone with my shoulder while I scroll through the songs that need to get recorded later tonight once the concert is done. The woman at the end of the phone was refusing to change the time that we had a scheduled in the studio today.
"I'm sorry ma'am but that's what your name is put down for" She tells me. James had scheduled for us to go in after the concert which is around midnight but now she's telling me we have it at eight o'clock, which won't work because of the concert that is currently happening right now. I curse under my breath and tell the lady it's fine. I'll work out something.
"You look stressed" Angela, James' stylist tells me from across the dressing room. I chuckle softly, feeling like that sentence is a huge understatement. I sit down beside her and throw my head back with a loud groan.
"You've got no idea Ang" I sigh. The older woman laughs softly, rubbing my arm in comfort as she stands up to pack her things away. After only a week on this tour, I've made good friends with the whole crew, especially Angela and Lauren who is James' hair and makeup stylist. They're both a lot older than me but took me in nonetheless. Linda, James' manager, has also been a good friend but she's always busy so I don't talk to her much.
James is probably the one I'm closest to, for obvious reasons. We are always in the studio and it's just him and I because he has no other writers or producers. With him, I do most of the production side while he spews lyrics out. I help with lyrics occasionally but he never struggles with it.
My phone dings three times, telling me I got a couple texts. I click on the home screen just to see that Harry texted me. My stress from earlier vanished completely and I smiled down at the device, reading his messages.
Harry: Hi baby, we're in Thailand already..Have that Toyota interview later.
Harry: Call me when you have a chance yeah?
Harry: I love you xx.
I don't bother texting back and click the call button immediately. I haven't heard his voice in a while because of how busy I've been and I miss it so much. They've been having lots of press for the album but he makes it his priority to text me everyday even if it's something small.
"That was fast" His voice sounds as a chuckle from the other side and I sigh in relief. I really did miss his voice.
"Hey" I say softly, leaving the room to have a bit of privacy. It was probably the worst place to call someone with all the noise but I didn't want to lose the chance.
"How are you, love? Everything ok?" He asks. It sounds like he had left a noisy area too because now all I can hear was his voice and nothing else. I walk into an empty dressing and sit down. I can feel the vibration of the loud music from stage as James sings his songs beautifully.
"I'm good, stressed if I'm honest" I say and go to explain everything from before on how the lady messes up our scheduling time and now we can't go tonight. James had put me in charge of this and I basically ruined it.
"I'm sure you can do something. The boys and I always create some makeshift studio in our rooms" He tells me. I snort in response because I would always make these small studio in their rooms. It worked perfectly but the mess we had to do was a pain.
"Thank god I don't have to clean after you guys now" I tease. He laughs loudly and my heart jumps at the sound. It's these small things that he does even miles away that makes me realize how much I really do take him for granted and realize how much I miss him.
