Before Maverik and Clio are chased by Demetri
This. Is. Amazing! I never want to leave here, it's peaceful, and the food is so good. Anan and Tallula did well for themselves, kind of makes me miss my own business back at home. The one I never had a chance to open. "So?" Noela says, interrupting my thoughts, I don't mind though, I don't want my thoughts stuck in the past, I want to focus on the present. "What do you want to do next?" She's eager to do more activities with me, makes my heart skip a beat, I'm not used to being wanted this way. "I'm perfectly happy staying here with you." She tells me that we shouldn't be wasting time sitting around, instead we should go out and treat ourselves to a "ladies' night out". I wasn't too keen on going along with this, "ladies' night" was something Lexy's tried to push me to participate in, but unlike her surprise around the world trips, I've always refused. I didn't see any point, I did my own makeup, nails, and hardly gave myself any time to relax. There were assignments, work, and business plans. Grams would go to make her happy, she always made time for both of us. "What do you suggest we do first?" I hope it's not shopping.
"We go to a hair salon?" Maybe shopping would've been better.
"Er. I don't know. My hair is fine as it is." I move my spiked bangs behind my ears. "Oh I know." Noela says, winking at me. I swear the beauty of this woman could put Aphrodite to shame. "I'm only saying that we should have time to ourselves, I mean, we did almost die. We deserve it." Damn, when she puts it that way... "You do have a point." I agree, and she suggests this place called Cla-mor-ray. After we get up from our seats, Tallula arrives, "leaving so soon?" She asks, disappointedly. Noela answers her, "We've been here most of the day, don't worry, I promise I'll be back." Her face glows with that beautiful smile of hers. Tallula points her fore finger to Noela, "I'll hold you to that. I hope to see you again Claudia."
"Thank you." I lowered my head, she's very nice, I like her, but I'm still shy around her. A voice in my head whispered that I should be afraid of her. She's so lovely and I don't know why I would think such a thing.
After Clio and Maverik arrive to Isla de Elba
We took a boat back to Tuscany, and temporarily took off our amulets. I asked Noela why I couldn't just use the teleportation spell to take us back. "It's too conspicuous, we can't be drawing attention to ourselves. We're still in the Volturi's territory, if they hear of any strange happenings they'll investigate. We need to keep them off our tails." The hair salon was like any other salon, clean, women gossiping, not that I understood them. Noela speaks to the owner and we are offered two empty booths. (Van Halen: Pretty Woman) My stylist was bilingual, I told her my beauty routine, she raises her eyebrows in surprise, and tells me that I could do more. She recommended me an ombre color mix and offered me a make over at no extra charge. Reluctantly, I agree. I was nervous throughout the entire process, more than once the stylist had to remind me to be still and relax. "How do I loo—Claudia." Noela said, jaw dropped.
"What?" Did I look terrible? I get my answer when the stylist turns me around to face the mirror. "Do you like it?..." The stylists waits for me to answer. "No actually.--- I love it." Everyone was happy at my reaction. When I did my makeup, the thought "I am beautiful and confident" never came to mind, only "good enough". I couldn't take my eyes off myself. I didn't believe it was me I was seeing. "Claudia, you're beautiful." Noela compliments. I turn back to face her, her once light brown curls, were now an intense sangria. I loved the way it was before, but she was still beautiful to me regardless. Noela pays stylists for their services, we quickly put back on our amulets, and move on to the next activity. Shopping. I groaned at the thought, besides traveling, shopping was Lexy's #1 hobby when she was in the states. Another activity I refused to share with her. "Claudia. I give you my word, this shopping trip will be one that you will never forget." Noela swares.
The boutique we go to, Dolci Trame, could fit in with any other clothing store found in malls. The only feature that stood out were their two dressing rooms covered in the same heavy velvet cloud grey curtains. Only the second one, Noela had to bribe the associate to let us use, apparently it belonged to a "private client". This dressing room was luxurious, and unique compared to others. There was Kashan design burgundy colored carpeting, the walls were mostly covered mirrors, except the doors for the walk-in closet, smooth patternless paneled cherry wood. A tall mannequin was positioned in the center, dressed in a corseted red gown with a silk skirt long enough to touch the floor. There was something off about this room. Noela notices my suspicion and drops a bombshell on me. This was Heidi's dressing room! "Why would you bring me here?"
"To have fun, of course." She smiles wickedly then presents me a couple of boxes of hair die she bought at the salon. "I thought maybe you would like to help me re-decorate the room for her." I like where this is going. (The Veronicas Everything I'm Not) "Why not." Noela sets up a video camera to leave for Heidi to see once we're long gone. I squirt the hair die on the mirrors writing "BURN IN HELL HEIDI", and stain the carpet. The dress wasn't spared either, pieces of fabric scattered everywhere. Noela helped herself to the wardrobe, she found an eggplant backless romper. Heidi will never know it was us who did this, we still wore the amulets. I smile sinisterly and pose with my middle finger. With satisfaction, I turn the camera off.
The song below is Everything I'm not by The Veronicas. Listen to it, don't listen to it, put it on your playlist if you want 😄. This is the song I imagine playing in the background while Claudia and Noela destroy Heidi's room. Honestly I wished I made this chapter a bit longer. Maybe I will when I get more ideas.
