When it came to love, Kuroo always seemed to crush on the wrong people. Oh well, always may have been an over-exaggeration considering he only had one real crush in his life.

For the past few years, Kuroo had been head over heels for Kenma, his childhood friend. Yes, the third-year absolutely knew how cliche the whole childhood dynamic was, but his feelings for the setter hadn't gone away just like that.

His crush was doomed to remain one-sided, however. All of that was fine to Kuroo when Kenma didn't show any romantic interest for anyone. As long as the second-year wasn't romantically involved with anyone else, Kenma would stay with the third-year.

That's why Kenma meeting Hinata significantly hurt the teen. The reason why the setter didn't like Kuroo wasn't that Kenma didn't have any romantic interest in anyone, the reason Kenma didn't like Kuroo wasn't that the setter liked girls, no, he just didn't have feelings for the third-year.

When Kenma first met the tangerine, Kuroo was jealous. They looked like they were on a date. The third-year knew he behaved like a total prick toward both Hinata and Kenma, but he couldn't help it. The team captain kept asking himself why he wasn't good enough and that night he cried, the third-year cried a lot.

Kuroo realized he had been lying to himself all along. Deep inside he knew Kenma would never return his feelings but it still stung. Honestly, the teen just felt like some sort of side character in a terrible cliche fanfiction.

Then Kuroo saw how Kenma's feelings for Hinata affected the second-year. Kenma started to become more motivated, he looked happier. The setter smiled while looking at his phone, he wanted to improve at volleyball and for once he actually was excited about a training camp. Kuroo loved seeing his childhood friend like this, who was he to take that away from him?

"What the hell is your problem?" Kuroo asked Kenma as they made their way into Nekoma's room. It was about 10pm, but surprisingly they were the only people in the room. Their teammates all must have gone somewhere else.

"What is my problem? Fuck everything, I'm so done with this entire training camp, I want to go home," Kenma angrily spoke as he fell down to his bed, grabbed his backpack, and started packing all of his stuff.

"Kenma, what in the  goddamn world are you doing? I create the perfect opportunity for you and the tangerine to spend time together and hang out for the entire night and after one round of UNO, you sit down at the teacher's desk, put in your earplugs, and ignored everyone for the rest of the evening? I don't get it. I thought you wanted to hang out with Hinata," Kuroo was at a total loss of words for the second-year's behavior. Why was Kenma acting so complicated? Not even his sister acted this confusing and she was a girl.

"Eat shit!" Kenma shouted at the third-year as he looked up at him, the second-year looked infuriated, but at the same time, he seemed to have problems suppressing his tears from falling down.

Kuroo sighed as he calmly sat down next to the setter, who was still angrily grabbing his stuff. "Tell me," the black-haired teen spoke up.

The third-year's sudden action threw the second-year off guard. Kenma stopped packing his stuff and looked directly at Kuroo. "Tell you what?" the teen asked, he sounded quite confused.

"Well, it's obvious something happened, tell me what happened."

Kenma looked at Kuroo, a suspicious expression on his face. "Promise me you won't do something stupid."

Kuroo looked back in dismay. "Have I ever done something stupid?" Kenma gave him a glare which was probably meant to resemble something along the lines of you-do-something-stupid-every-day.
