Hey Kageyama, we need to talk about what you said to me yesterday. Do you have time to meet up?Kageyama still had his toothbrush in his mouth as he received the redhead's message. The notification kind of shocked the first-year. The two of them rarely ever texted in private. Still, the setter immediately agreed with Hinata's proposal, he needed to hear what the middle blocker had to say after all.

Sure, do you have time this afternoon? It didn't take long for Hinata to respond, the first-year was once again taken aback by the notification he received from the redhead, even though he expected it.

Alright, would 12 work?Kageyama looked at his phone in surprise, 12? Hinata, you dumbass, it was 11 am right now, that would be a very inconvenient time considering they would need to eat lunch at some point. Then again, Kageyama wanted to hear what the redhead had to say to him as soon as possible.

Sure, do you want to meet at Sakanoshita's?Sakanoshita Store was the store that was owned by Coach Ukai's family. Karasuno's volleyball team usually went there to buy steamed buns after practice. Not only was it slightly closer to Hinata's home than the school was, but Kageyama also saw this as a good reason to buy a steamed bun for lunch.

Okay, craving a steamed bun anyways :DKageyama still needed to shower and get changed before meeting up with Hinata. The first-year had just taken a run and wanted to freshen up.
The setter found it hard to read the mood of the upcoming conversation from their texts, it could go two ways. Either this meeting would end up becoming a date, or it would end up in rejection. If Hinata were to reject Kageyama, would that mean the redhead had chosen Kozume over him? Maybe he wasn't even interested in guys, to begin with? It at least seemed like the second-year hadn't snitched about all that Kageyama had done to him, if that was the case, this conversation would have been very different already.
Why hadn't the second-year setter told Hinata anything about what had happened between the two though? Even Kageyama realized he took it too far. The first-year didn't want to admit his defeat to Kuroo when the third-year confronted him with the situation, but the raven-haired teen knew that he had handled this situation very poorly. That is why the setter desperately hoped for his actions to remain a secret from the redhead he adored a little too much.
Whatever Kuroo told the first-year when they talked had been right though. Kageyama didn't exactly know why he had behaved like such a prick, was it jealousy or internalized homophobia? Probably a combination of both. The setter never had to deal with these weird and annoying feelings before he met the redhead, but whenever he saw Hinata get all focused during a volleyball match, the teen couldn't help but smile to himself. If only the redhead could return his feelings.
In reality, Kageyama didn't have much faith in the conversation that was about to come. As much as the teen would prefer to have the redhead like him, the setter didn't feel too optimistic about his current chances with the middle blocker. Hinata never seemed to show much interest in Kageyama if it wasn't about volleyball or some other sort of competition. Even considering the redhead's love for the sport, Hinata would rather play dumb games with dumb Kenma during the training camp than train some more with the raven-haired first-year. In any other situation, the middle blocker would have preferred to train. In short, it seemed like the redhead heavily preferred volleyball over Kageyama, but Hinata seemed to choose spending time with Kenma over practicing his favorite sport.
