For once in my life, I saw Father in shock and utterly speechless. He usually always has something to say or do after being confronted about something.

I felt the same knives and needles dig into my skin as Zarik once again tore himself away from me after Wolfsbane had talked to him. Not wanting to talk to me any more than he already had.

He finally seemed to have recovered from his shock because I found myself being yelled at by not only him but also Wolfsbane.

"I RAISED YOU FROM WHEN YOU WERE JUST A SECOND OLD! WHEN DID I EVER MAKE IT CLEAR THAT YOU COULD REJECT YOUR MATE SIMPLY BECAUSE THEY WEREN'T WHO YOU WANTED THEM TO BE?!" The entire office shook from the power of his voice and a few portraits even fell off the walls and landed with glass shattering and scattering everywhere as if there were an earthquake.

"I-I-You've always told me to show no weakness and to not allow anyone to get under my skin," I shuddered at first, trying to gain control of my voice and sound more steady than I felt. I was so scared of my Father, that I didn't feel Zarik come back due to hearing his alpha's voice raging at us and I felt him, coward, under Wolfsbane power and immediately submitted to him.

"BUT I NEVER SAID ANYTHING ABOUT REJECTING YOUR MATE! YOU'RE MATE IS WHAT COMPLETES YOUR SOUL! THEY'RE THE SOLE CREATURE THAT IS SUPPOSED TO RULE ALONGSIDE YOU! NO ONE ELSE!" I felt as though I were just a wolf pup and was seeing Death in the face as I wasn't supposed to be born because I wasn't the wolf's offspring.

If a male or female cheats on their mate, then the males will kill any offspring that isn't theirs without hesitation or a second thought while the females kill the mother, and if the pup or pups are born before she's dead, then the female will nurse and raise them as if they were her's. If the mother was killed while still carrying the pup or pups, then they will immediately die alongside the mother.

"Father, I-I-DO NOT SPEAK! AS OF NOW, YOU ARE NO SON OF MINE!" Father cuts me off as I attempt to defend my reason upon rejecting my mate. He was taking deep breaths, trying to calm down. I could see his eyes flashing between his usual blue and the yellow of Wolfsbane. Wolfsbane was trying to take control as I've never seen him this angry before. It almost looked as though Father wasn't fighting Wolfsbane as his eyes stayed a yellow color much longer than blue.

"Grimsley. This is an order rather than a request. I want you to go to Accalia's Lupus house and make it up to her. I don't care if you have to humiliate yourself in front of the entire pack or even give up your position as next-alpha, but you must make it up to her. Otherwise, I prevent you from becoming alpha." I felt Zarik's excitement at this order and it was obvious that he would wholeheartedly do it without a second thought.

"But Father, why must it matter if I do make it up to her? It's not a requirement to have your mate to become alpha." At my Father's furious glare, his eyes finally settling upon a glowing and fearful yellow, I instantly regretted what I just said. It was clear as crystal that Wolfsbane had just taken control of my Father and that furious couldn't even describe the glare he was giving.

"YOU'RE MATE IS A GIFT GIVEN FROM LUNA HERSELF! TO REJECT HER HER GIFT IS AN INSULT TO HER! SHE'S THE SOLE REASON WHY YOU'RE A WEREWOLF AND YOU SHOULD RESPECT HER AS YOUR GODDESS!" I visually flinched at Wolfsbane's rage and Zarik was now whimpering in horror, completely submitting to him and rolling over to expose his stomach to him as a sign of submission.

"YOU ARE TO GO TO HER HOUSE AND MAKE THINGS UP WITH HER! I DON'T CARE IF YOU HAVE TO GIVE UP YOUR RANK OR JUMP OFF A CLIFF! DO IT!" Wolfsbane commanded.

Zarik, upon hearing this command immediately jumped up and without me realizing it, had taken over and shifted right in Father's office.

"What are you doing?" I growled at him. "Why and how did you shift so fast?!"
