I let out a sigh as I looked up at my high school. The high school is small and is made of eroded stone, giving it a more rustic or ancient look. Ivy climbs up the walls of the building and even goes inside the school through openings of either the stone or windows due to the fact the school has no actual windows, but rather openings. There are three stories to the high school, the first being a basement that's underground and is used for gym or any athletic activities such as a weight room.
The second floor is mainly used for quieter and less hands-on classes such as English, Math, and History. All the hands-on classes are on the third floor so then they'll have the roof to use for any outdoor needs such as the robotics, music, science, or art classes.
There's a very small dirt parking lot as a lot of people rather walk to places than drive because of the noise and smoke that a car makes. All the roads in the town are dirt roads that were mainly created through trucks driving to and from the town as it's a dead-end and only forest beyond the town.
I look at the many teens talking to their friends or even making out with their partner while their friends tease or insult them about it. No one bothered to try and strike a conversation with me or even look in my direction as I am the outcast of the town.
All because of Chloe.
When Chloe was born, my parents didn't hesitate to show her to everyone in the town and brag about the things she did or how beautiful she was. Whenever someone would ask about me or even ask for a comparison of me and her, my parents would immediately go quiet and quickly change the topic to either Chloe or anything else aside from me. Thus, leading people to decide that I'm not worth their breath and started to ignore me as well.
"Why isn't anyone coming up to you or saying anything to you? I'm getting a lot of wolves asking me why their human counterpart is completely ignoring us," Orchid breaks me out of my thoughts.
"Because we're the outcast. We're the person who is a simple background character that no one bothers to acknowledge or waste their breath on. We're nothing Orchid," I said in a monotone voice. "And what do you mean "other wolves?" Are there more werewolves here?" I added in a confused voice.
Yes. While the human counterpart cannot sense if another werewolf is around, we wolves can. We're able to communicate with one another without our human counterpart knowing and can do it if we're within a certain radius of one another. We can even do it if our human counterpart is asleep but we're not. Almost everyone here is a werewolf. Those who aren't just simply haven't turned 18 which is when you first shift," explained Orchid. "And I wish you stopped calling yourself that and looking down on yourself. Just because you're forced to live in your sister's shadow, that doesn't mean you won't reach greater heights than her. If anything, she'll become a stripper or prostitute because she can't do anything. Trust me Accalia. Those who rise during school will most likely fall when they're thrust into the real world." I just smiled at what Orchid just said about Chloe and agreed with her.
I walked through the open oak doors and headed for the stairs to my first class which was Honors Algebra II. Since there was still 30 minutes until school started, everyone was either outside socializing or inside and frantically working on homework that they've forgotten or studied for a test that they have.
I saw Chloe by one of the classrooms, flirting with a senior who was also in my algebra class. I could tell she was simply flirting with him so then he would do her homework and she could go skip class later to make out with some random teen or go with her friends to the mall again to buy stupidly expensive things.
"Why does she even bother coming to school if she's just going to be skipping it and not listen to the teachers when she is here?" I wonder to myself.
