"With fear comes hatred
so why does my heart shrink with fear at the sight of you
yet I'm incapable of hating you?"

"Awfully confident aren't you?" Xavier mocks, his fingers tapping on the table.
I glare at him, hands balled to my sides, "I can kill every person in this ball before they can reach the front door," I offer a sickly smile, "Skills like that do wonders for a person's self confidence."
He leans back on his seat, his eyes lightening up with amusement, "Dazzle me with your skills then, love."
My jaw flexes and I'm about to push off my seat when Blake interrupts, "We are not doing this here," he seethes, glaring at both of us.
Xavier gives him a chilling cold look, his annoyance visible by the way his tongue caresses his inner cheek. "Glare at me like that one more time, don't think I would need you to take the bastard down."
It's Blake's turn now to push off his seat, except I don't stop him. "Oh, so you think you can take him down alone? Knowing he runs one of the most powerful mafias in the world," he lets out a laugh of pure mockery, "They sure didn't lie when they said you were a psychopath."
Xavier looks unbothered as he stands and walks up to Blake. "I can show you exactly what they mean," he says in a wicked manner.
I knew to step in when I noticed his balled fists and stiff form. Xavier Blade was not to be messed with, even I knew that. His lack of morals and reputation spoke for him. And no matter how much I hated Blake right now, I did not want to see him hurt.
"He's right, Blade," I walk over to where they are, "If we want to take him down we need to work together." They both look at me now, so I continue, "We need numbers, we need power and we need knowledge. Blake has the numbers, I have the information and Blade has power. Therefore, in order for this to work we need each other, a plan, and multiple backup ones."
Blake watches me silently whilst Xavier stares me down, their expressions unreadable. I lean against the wall, feigning confidence with both their eyes settled on me. I could almost hear the spinning machines in their heads as silence fell on us. It created a little anxious bubble in my gut that I could not get rid of. This is supposed to be the easy part; I knew they'd agree. The hard part was how we were going to do this.
"I'm in," Blake declared.
I nod, "Blade?" I look at him expectantly. He grunts with a sharp stare before nodding.
A small smile escapes me. We're going to do this.
Blake holds my gaze for a bit before releasing an exhale, "Are we done here?"
