~Rei's POV~
After I put Mei to bed, I was exhausted. I took a quick shower and headed to bed. Ugh. I never finished my homework. Maybe Gou will let me copy his. Today's events are running through my mind. I can't believe my dad left Mei in the middle of a park because he saw an old friend and went drinking. I yelled my f*cking head off at him. But on the bright side I met a cute girl today. She such a beautiful girl. She's so fragile and tiny.She really nice and is awesome with Mei. I thought about Tsubaki as I drifted off to sleep.

I woke up around 3:00 to a tiny body climbing in my bed. I knew it was Mei and she was burning up. She has a fever but don't know how high it is. I touch her forehead. "You're burning up bunny. I'll be right back." I whisper getting up and going to bathroom to get a thermometer and some medicine and then to her room to get some lighter clothes because her's were soaked in sweat.
I took her temperature. 39.2 Celsius (102.5 Fahrenheit). I gave her some medicine and a glass of water because it tasted really bad but it worked really good. I changed her clothes, opened the patio door, and got back into bed. I texted Izumi telling him about Mei's fever and that I'll text him any updates. I laid back down wrapping arms around her and rubbed her back. Her skinned burned against my bare chest. I hope she gets better. She hates to miss pre-school.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My alarm went off at 6:00. Mei still feels warm so I take her temperature again. 40 Celsius (104 Fahrenheit).It got worse. I have to get her to a hospital. I got dresses and grab my book bag and put a change of clothes for Mei, a water bottle, a bear because Mei doesn't like hospitals, and my wallet. I put on our shoes and called Izumi as I walked out of the door.
"Hello." He sounded like he just woke up.
"It's Rei. I'm taking Mei to the hospital. Her fever went up. It's at 40 Celsius."
"I'll meet you at the hospital." He said and hung up.
Once I got to the hospital it was packed. Holy crap. It's like 6:30 on a Monday morning why is it so busy. I got in line for the front desk. It was long. Izumi went to try to find seats for us. I finally got through the line, got paper work, and sat down to realize that I didn't have my glasses or contacts in. I can still see but it just a little blurry.
"Izumi can you fill this out. I forgot my glasses." I asked Izumi handing him the paper work. He asked me the questions as he filled it out. Poor Mei, her fever was growing hotter. I gave her to Izumi when we finished the paper work. I gave it to the receptionist.
"Can I have some ice for my daughter's fever?" I asked. They nodded, got up, and returned with a cup of ice. I said took it with a thank you and went back to my seat.
"Mei, I got you some ice. Do you want some?" She nodded weakly and I had a chip of ice. We waited about an hour until we saw a doctor. He said that Mei had an infection and that they wanted to emitted her because her fever was so high. Izumi said that he was going to work but to call him if I needed anything and that he would cover for my at school.
Mei's fever finally went after seven hours. She still is very sick but she was released and now she's sleeping in her room as I finish my homework in mine. I got up and checked on my to make sure her fever wasn't back and to get something to drink. I heard the door open and close. I saw that it was Izumi.
"You know one day the neighbors are going to think your my lover if just keep walking like this." I said leaning against the door frame the living room. "Especially if you show up with up groceries too." I added.
"Shut up you perverted high school." He said walking to the kitchen. "I'm going to make soup for Mei and then I'm leaving. Oh I've brought you the work that you miss and homework." He added on the last part then pulled out a piece of paper with page numbers on it.
"But I just finished my homework." I said taking the paper to look at it.
"Just go do your work." Izumi said and then started on the soup. I went back to my room and started on my work. A while later Izumi came in and told me that he was going home and that he put in the fridge. I waved good bye and continued working. Izumi has always been like an older brother to me even when my brother was alive. They were childhood friends. It didn't bother anybody when he stepped into my brother position because it benefit Mei and I.
My phone went off. I realized that it was going on seven o'clock. I looked at the message.
~Hello. This is Tsubaki.~
Just a simply message had me grinning like an idiot. I went to the kitchen and started to heat up the soup. I texted back.
~Hello Tsubaki. How was your first day school?~
I went to Mei room to wake her up to eat. I picked her up and sat her at the table. I went back to the kitchen, checked the soup, and got out two bowls and two spoons. I got other message.
~It wasn't the best. I got lost a lot and yelled at by the gym teacher because I didn't have a uniform. Where you today?~
I filled the bowls with soup and set them on the table with the spoons.
~Mei had a very high fever. It turns out she had an infection. They had to emit her because her fever was so high.~
I began to eat. Izumi is the best cook ever. Mei manage to finish half a bowl. I decided that she needed a bath. I cleaned up and started running bath water. Mei was more awake now even though she had a slight fever. She was currently in the living room playing and watch some anime on TV. We took a bath and got ready for bed. I looked at my phone again beforw going to bed.
~Poor thing. I hope she fells better.~
~Me too. Good night Tsubaki.~
~Good night Rei.~
