Chapter 55

The buzzing sound of phones ringing and doctors yelling echoes through Sienna's head as she walks up to Jay's doctor. He's still not awake, and the doctors have minimal equipment to help him.

"I want to transfer him to Chicago Med." She tells the doctor.

"Ma'am, transferring him is risky. He needs a lifeline-"

She cuts him off, "Transferring him to Chicago Med is the only lifeline he needs. They have all the equipment he needs to survive, and I want him near me."

"Ma'am"

"It is doctor" She snaps, "Doctor Roberts. I am a trauma surgeon at Chicago Med so I know what I'm talking about. You are not equipped to help my best friend, and I do appreciate all you have done but the fact that you didn't call me the moment he arrived tells me that you are understaffed, don't follow protocol and you can't keep my best friend alive. I am putting in a transfer and so help me God if you don't put him in the back of a plane in an hour."

Antonio sighs as he takes her into his arms when she walks back to him and Haley. "Easy there, tiger. I brought you a muffin. You need to eat and stop snapping at everyone."

"Thanks babe" Her eyes flutter close when his lips make impact with her temple.

"You think he'll put in Jay's transfer?" Haley asks

"If he knows what's good for him" She mutters.

"Sienna" Antonio warns, "Eat your muffin."

She chews the blueberry muffin while giving her husband the stink eye. Both him and Haley fail to stifle their laughs.

The same doctor walks up to them a bit later and nods to Sienna, "He'll be in Chicago in 30 minutes. They are expecting him"

"Thank you" She replies genuinely.

"Let's go" The three start their journey back to Chicago and when they get there it's 7am and Jay's already up in surgery. Maggie meets Sienna halfway giving her a wordless hug.

"Who's up there with him?"

"Rhodes and Choi. You guys need to go home, shower and relax. It'll be a while."

"I'm fine here" Haley says.
"Me too" replies Sienna. Antonio grabs his wife's hand and leads the two girls to the waiting room.

While Haley is calling the unit, Sienna falls asleep on Antonio's lap. He strokes her blonde hair absentmindedly while praying that Jay survives. He's not sure his wife would survive if something were to happen.

Three hours of Sienna still sleeping in the same position, the Intelligence unit forming a circle around the waiting area and absolutely no word from any nurse or doctor, Choi walks out alongside Rhodes and Maggie.
"I don't want to wake her if it's bad" Antonio whispers. Maggie smiles softly, "Wake her."

Antonio shakes her awake, "Babe, doctors are here"

Sienna wakes up groggily, wiping her face and eyes. "How is he?" She jumps up. Haley grabs her hand as the two blondes eagerly await an answer.

"He lost a lot of blood" Choi begins knowing not to beat around the bush, "we almost lost him, but he's awake"

"What?" Sienna does a double spin as Haley gasp. The Intelligence unit start cheering. Rhodes chuckles happily, "He's awake and responsive, no signs of brain damage."

She embraces her colleagues in a bear hug and then hugs Haley. She gives Antonio a kiss.

He grins, "Can we see him?"

"One at a time" Maggie smiles and squeezes Sienna's shoulder before walking off with the two doctors.

Sienna tells Haley to go in first as she cuddles into Antonio's side. "Love you"

"Love you too gorgeous girl" He presses his lips to hers.

When Sienna walks into Jay's room a few hours later she grins at his beaming face. He's looking so good, so healthy.

"You scared me" She slaps his arm.

"I'm injured here" He laughs. "Hales told me you went all army Sienna on Oscar. Are you in trouble?"

"No" She sits down on the chair, "There was a witness apparently. Police claimed it was self-defence, I'm just glad the bastard is gone."

"Me too" He squeezes her hand, "Thanks for saving my life best friend"

She grins, "Yeah well the world needs your ugly mutt. Why the hell were you in Indiana without talking to me?"

"Doesn't matter anymore. I've cleared my head, Oscar is dead and so is the allegations he made against me. I'm happy. I've asked Haley to be my girl"

Sienna beams and kisses his forehead, "Good."
