Chapter 27

HARRY

(July 10th, 2015 3:12 p.m.)

"Niall, hurry up!" I called impatiently. "Our reservation is at 4 and I don't want to be late!"

Niall appeared at the top of the stairs. "Okay, okay, I'm coming. Why are you so worried about this?"

"It's just, you know my step-dad Robin. He's a great guy and is very supportive of me. However, my dad, not so much. When he finds out I'm gay and have a boyfriend..." I trailed off. "I don't even know why he's coming instead of Robin. He's never been a good father before, why start now?"

Niall sighed and patted my shoulder. "I'm sure everything will be fine, H. Besides, even if things go wrong, just remember, Zayn, Liam, Louis and I will all be there for you. And don't forget that Gemma and your mom will be perfectly fine with it. Gemma already knows, right?"

I nodded. "Yeah, you're right."

"Now, come on. Zayn's waiting outside."

We were going to dinner with my family who had come over to visit. I had seen Gemma a month or two before, but I hadn't seen my mom in almost half a year, and I hadn't seen my dad in almost two. For some reason, he had insisted on coming, and Robin felt uncomfortable intruding, so he stayed home, much to my disappointment. Robin had always been more of a father-figure towards me than Des had; he had been there for my Grade 8 graduation, my high school graduation, everything.

We left the house and hopped into Zayn's car.

"Hey Zayn." I spoke.

"Hey guys," he responded. "You ready?"

"Yeah, let's go."

Harry: We're going to eat with my family and I'm kind of scared.

Louis: why?

Harry: Well for one, it's my dad there not my step-dad.

Harry: We don't get along very well.

Harry: And he's kind off homophobic.

Louis: oh...

Louis: don't worry haz

Louis: i'm sure everything will be fine

Harry: Yeah.

Louis: i love you, don't forget that

Harry: How could I ever?

Harry: I love you too.

Louis: don't let him push you around

Louis: your an adult you can do whatever the fuck you want

Harry: Great advice, thanks.

Louis: oh shut up

Louis: i tried making lunch today

Harry: Oh no...

Louis: i almost burnt down the kitchen
