Some people get up early in the morning, enjoying the first rays of the sun while they go for their morning run. Samantha definitely wasn't one of those people. She would love to be able to function properly in the mornings but she knew mornings were bad luck for her. The morning of August 12th wasn't any different. First of all she was awoken extra early by a phone call from The London Music and Movie Studio with the question if she could start working that same morning. Not wanting to lose the opportunity, Samantha obviously said yes to that.
Then when she finally decided to actually step out of bed, she hurt herself by hitting her toe against the edge of her bed. and if it couldn't get any better, she spilled her hot coffee all over her hand. She was glad everything with the horses went well. Besides her ripping her shirt apart by staying stuck at an old nail. I was lucky it was my oldest shirt. She thought.
So after all that bad luck she Really hoped her first day at work would go better. Parking her red car in the parking lot next to the building, she felt the nerves building. Calm down Sam. Everything will be fine. You will have your dream job and a great team to do it. She assured herself. Walking inside the building she saw the same secretary was seated behind the desk.
"Hello, I'm here for my first day of working here" She said, letting the secretary know she arrived. "O yes, Miss Marshall, right? If you please wait a second I'll send Miley to get you." The secretary answered her. Samantha nodded her head and waited patiently.
A few minutes later a girl came walking towards Samantha. She was walking in confidently with her deep red hair bouncing around her face. Her black skinny jeans matching Samantha's and her pink shirt shining a bright neon color.
"Hey, I'm Miley. I'm the one who will show you around the place and besides that, I'll work together with you and three others from now on." The girl introduced herself and Samantha liked her happy and bright personality already. "I'm Samantha, but Sam is okay too. It's nice to meet you" She replied before both girls went off to explore the building.
Samantha and Miley got along perfectly and while Miley showed her the main parts of the building, Sam felt as if she had known her for a lifetime. She knew her past would catch up to her soon so she was too afraid to trust anyone. Still she found herself already wishing to be friends with the enthusiastic girl.
"On to the last and most important room!... Welcome to our own office! We are with four people, including you, and that desk on the right corner is yours." Miley says getting Samantha out of her thoughts. She opened the door and they both stepped inside the room.
The lightning was coming from one side of the room where the entire wall existed of windows. And before Samantha could scan the rest of the room two boys, or rather young men, came barging in the room.
"Hey Miley bailey! Look what we brought! - And hello to you too..." the first guy says as he storms into the room. Looking over the first guy, Samantha thought he had a geeky appearance with his mid long, blond hair and big glasses. He was dressed in long white trousers and a green blouse whereas the other guy was dressed in sleek black skinny jeans, a simple white shirt and a leather jacket. His hair as short and almost white.
" Hey guys! This is Sam. Sam this are the crazy people we work with. Liam and Zack." Miley introduced both men to her.
Samantha nodded and waved at them saying, "Also hello!". She wasn't really a people person so she was really glad they flashed her big smiles and did the same. Almost immediately after the hello, Liam started asking questions, "How old are you? Is Sam short for anything? Where are you from? Why did you want to work here? What are your hobby's?"
"You're talking way too fast for your own good. I'm almost twenty-one and Sam is indeed short for Samantha. I'm from a little unknown town in the North of the Netherlands that you probably won't know. I just moved here like two weeks ago and I always wanted to do something with music or movies and this is both, and in my spare time I like to ride my horses." Samantha answered all his questions while laughing at his way of asking too much too fast.
"Miley you chose the best one! I already like her!" he said to Miley and she smiled at Samantha. "I know, and girl you really need to teach me how to ride a horse!".
Samantha overlooked the situation once again. She felt like Miley was a good friend to her already. The girl was a happy spirit but she was really serious when she needed to be. Liam on the other hand was geeky and funny and Samantha wondered if she could ever do some serious work without laughing with him. Zack on the other hand hadn't said much in the time she was there. Samantha figured he was either kind of shy or he just didn't want to open up to her.
The four of them were all happily chatting when another person rushed into the room. "little group of lazy bastards! Start to work! The clip needs to be done by tomorrow. We aren't paying you for talking!" the person, a girl, says. She had brown eyes and long blond hair, wearing a black dress Samantha only recognised as one people would be wearing in a club. Just not to work. It's way too short to be called professional. Samantha thought, not daring to say it out loud.
"Yea, yea, Bianca. We're already on it." Zack says with a bored face. Samantha guessed the others had seen the girl before this. The girl- Bianca- huffs and turns around closing the door behind her. "Well, meet the bitch of the building." Liam told Samantha. "Don't worry, every building has one. I only thought you were the one of this building." She joked. Liam looked back at her with a fake sad face while the others all laugh.
