"Heads. We go left."

Book twirled the coin through her fingers as she and the rest of FreeSmart took a tunnel going left. After following the trail of Leafy's knives through the sewers of Yoyle City, the trail ended shortly after the six of them encountered a cave system. They quickly got hopelessly lost underground, either flipping a coin or using eeny-meeny-miny-moe to chose which way to go next for the past month. The shape, size, direction, and even temperature of the tunnels varied multiple times as they went along. At one point, it had gotten so hot that Ice Cube began to melt slightly. Luckily they managed to move away from the hot tunnels in time for Icy to live.

Pencil groaned as they hit another dead end. "I guess we gotta go right, then." She turned on the spot, accidentally shining her flashlight in Bubble's face, and began to backtrack.

"Gosh, I'm, like, so tired of being in these stupid tunnels," Match said as she and the others followed Pencil.

"Me too," Pencil and Ruby said in unison. "Jinx! Double jinx!"

Bubble paused to clear the spots from her eyes. The fact that she was still made of Yoyle metal prevented her from popping. "Me too..."

"Well, complaining won't solve anything," Book said firmly. "If we keep going, we'll get out eventually. Looking at the slope of the tunnels, we're closest to the surface that we've ever been."

"But that's a lie," Match said.

"A lie?" Ice Cube asked.

"We're under a mountain. We could still be going up for, like, miles, and not reach the surface," Match pointed out. This shut Book up.

Bubble spoke up. "Who's idea was this again?"

"It was Ruby's."

"What? Noooo," Ruby scoffed. "Trying to find Leafy was YOUR idea, Pencil."

"Well, you were the one to give me the idea!"

"Can you guys just stop!?" Bubble snapped. She turned around and shined her light right in Pencil's face. "I'm just as tired as you are from walking in these tunnels for who knows how long, but we're all in this together. Like Book said, complaining won't solve anything, and neither will arguing! So just be quiet and maybe we can get out of here!" She turned and stomped away, leaving the others speechless.

"What the sharpener?" Pencil muttered after a minute of silence. "I've never seen Bubble that angry."

"Me neither," Match admitted. "I'm a bit worried."

"Eh, I'm sure she'll be back to normal soon. Let's just follow her."

"Really?" Match asked as they continued to walk again.

"Yeah! Her bubbly old self will return in no time."

"No, I mean, really? As in, you're really just going to let her be like that?"

"Well... yeah," Pencil replied, a little hesitantly. "Why?"

"Don't you, like, care about her? I think you should go apologize."

Pencil scoffed. "Apologize for what? I was only stating the facts."

"Not really," Ruby muttered under her breath.

Neither Pencil nor Match heard her. "You obviously, like, hurt her feelings," Match continued.

"Oh, please. There are other people who have hurt her feelings way more than I might have. Like Leafy. Who we are trying to find." Pencil gritted her teeth.
