Chapter 58

viLelouch's POV

After a day, Mei has bid her farewell to Erika for the reason of her father summoning her as an alibi. She did not anymore gave face to the girls either.

And with Andy, she just sent a farewell text message. She can't bear to say it personally and she already decided to quench the fire in her heart. Seeing Andy would surely not help.

"Hey Donna, when will Andy be coming back?" Rina asked one afternoon after their classes.

Andy has been absent for three days. Her family went for a trip out of the country.

"I think she's back now. I'm not sure though."

"She sure is reckless going on a vacation when exam is right in the corner," Rina said.

"Yeah, but her godfather summoned her though," Donna explained.

"He's the one who planned to celebrate Andy's birthday in his place."

"Wait—"

"What birthday?" Rina curiously asked.

Donna suddenly realized something and bit her lip. Her expression went apologetic.

"You didn't know?"

"Yesterday was Andy's birthday."

Rina's forehead crest and shook her head along with it. Then both turned their gazes to Erika.

'Shoot'

Clear as crystal was the grimaced look that dawned upon the girl.

She didn't say a word but her expression said it all.

Andy got out from the shower humming, put on her oversized tee and dried her hair. She checked her phone and found a message from Erika.

'Where are you now?'

She smilingly replied immediately. She then went to the kitchen and brewed some coffee.

After awhile, the doorbell rung. She checked it and found Erika. She rashly opened the door and was surprised to see the girl carrying a mini chocolate cake and some canned beers.

And she was more than curious seeing the grimaced, angry, disappointed expression written all over the the girl's face.

Without invitation, Erika let herself in.

"Why you didn't tell me your birthday?"

'oopps'

Gulping hard, Andy apologetically replied, "Sorry, you didn't ask."

Erika inhaled then exhaled as though exhaling her wrath while shutting her eyes for composure.

"Well, I'm here to celebrate it with you—even if it's late."

That made Andy to smile and her heart to flutter.

'ahem'

She even wanted to hug Erika right there but refrain herself.

"Thank you."

Erika sneered, "Do you have something to lit up the candle?"

Andy nodded then went to the kitchen in haste to get it. Erika by then, dimmed the lights around the house.

"You hold the cake," Erika commanded as she light up the candle.

Smiling, Andy did so.

"Won't you sing me a birthday song?"

Erika shot her a glare, "Can't you wait?"

Then she sat by the piano tapping the chair, gesturing Andy to sit with her.

The brushing of their arms brought shiver down their spine down to their toes.

Erika smiled as she started pressing the keys.

[Happy birthday to you

Happy birthday to you

Happy birthday

Happy birthday

Happy birthday to you]

She sung it with a slower tempo than normal, complimenting the mood around.

It gave Andy bliss and a different level of joy as she listened and her heartbeat thump like set of drums in accompaniment .

"Make a wish," Erika commanded.

Andy did and smiled as soon as she opened her eyes.

'Be mine'

"Blow it already," Erika commanded again and Andy did so smiling.

"Thank you," Andy's smiled with so much warmth in it.

And looking directly into Erika's eyes reflected by the lights, oh just how much she wanted to kiss the girl right there as everything seemed to feel right— like it was the moment she'd been talking about with Donna— the right and perfect one.

'ayieee'
