(Jay's POV)
It's been another boring day at Ninjago high and I couldn't wait for lunchtime to roll round. I was currently in my chemistry class sitting next to my best friend, Cole. Finally the bell had gone and me and Cole made our way to the cafeteria, where we met up with our other friends, Kai, Lloyd and Zane.
We got our food and all sat down together, Kai looked half asleep and Lloyd looked like he'd had seen a ghost and Zane is just, well... Zane.
Halfway through my meal I looked up to see Nya and her friends, Nya is Kai's sister and she is the girl that I have feelings for. I met Nya and Kai about 8 years ago and didn't really start to develop feelings for her till around 2 years ago. Thought every time of attempted to ask her I have been to nervous to.
The table fell silent until Cole said to Lloyd. "Sooooo, how has your day gone so far?" Lloyd said in a annoying tone. "Awful, I got in trouble for something I didn't do, Morro tripped up Akita and claimed it was me who did it since I was next to her" Lloyd had a look of sadness on him, we all know that Lloyd has a massive crush on Akita and he feels like Morro has ruined his chance.
"Don't worry Lloyd, Morro is a jerk who only cares for himself" Kai said. We then started talking about some other stuff until I chirped up saying.
"Uh Kai"
"Yeah Buddy" My Fiery Friend said.
"Cause I talk to you privately please?" I ask him.
"S-sure thing Jay"
Me and Kai leave the others so I can talk to him.
"So Jay, what is it you wanted to tell me?"
I'm t-thinking about a-asking Nya out" He looked mad so but I continued. "But only with your blessing Kai"
Kai thought about it for a straight 2 minutes and then said. "Jay I'm fine with you asking my sister out but just remember to take care of her and to not break her heart as well, or I will break yours" I gave Kai a determined look and nodded, and we both went back into the cafeteria to meet with the others.
We told the others about what me and Kai were discussing and while they were making some jokes about it there were mainly quite happy for me. I then turned round to go walked to Nya's table but then I saw Morro and his goons walk up to her, Morro looking as cocky as ever.
(Nya's POV)
I was sitting down with my friends at lunch, we were talking about Akita's massive crush on Lloyd and how Lloyd accidentally tripped her up today.
But something caught my eye, my Brother Kai and his friend Jay were walking outside looking like they were about to have chat, I was really curious about what they were talking about. I hope it's about me, but that's a long shot.
I've had a crush on Jay for around a year and I want to ask him, but I don't think he likes me back in that way and I don't what it to ruin our friendship. Skylor then said to me.
"Staring at Jay again I see" she then sighs. "Nya, you got to ask him, he clearly likes you back, have you not seen the way he's acts when he's around you" I blush at what she says but it is true, Jay is very odd when he's around me.
"I don't know Skylor" I told her. "Besides why would he like me anyways? I'm hideous" I said with a sad tone.
"Cause he doesn't matter about appearance, he cares for who you are and what you mean to him, and Nya don't call yourself Hideous, you like one of the prettiest girls in the school" I thank her for the comment and I continue eating my food.
A few minutes later, Jay and Kai came back in to the cafeteria, Jay looked ecstatic while Kai wasn't looking happy or mad, he was just being his same old self.
Then Jay turned around and looked to be walking to, OUR TABLE! I was panicking and acting all nervous and I was thinking in my head. "Play it cool Nya, play it cool" Jay stopped in his tracks though as Morro and his group of idiotic friends showed up.
"What's up Beautiful" he said to me while winking at the same time, I looked at him in disgust.
"How bout you and me go out tonight, my treat" I the said to him, annoyed as ever. "I wouldn't want to be caught dead with you" I then spat on his jacket, he looked mad, he then walked up to me and slapped me, he then pushed me to the floor about to punch me until he heard the sound of someone. "HEY, LEAVE HER ALONE"
That voice came from none other than Jay Walker.
(Jay's POV)
"HEY, LEAVE HER ALONE" I said to Morro with anger. Nya looked absolutely petrified, but then Morro released her from his grasp. "What are you gonna do Junkyard boy?" That comment broke me, I ran up to and punched him in the stomach. Morro fell to the ground and then laughed. "Is that really the best you got" He then got back up and started punching me in the face, every punch he swinged, it would hit me, I hate the guy but he was a damn good fighter.
I then started to retaliate and throw Morro on to the cafeteria tables, I then started punching him like there was no tomorrow, I thought I was victorious, if his goons didn't come in and help him out.
They were punching and kicking me while I was on the floor, helpless, no way out, Until.
Nya knocked out both his goons and picked me up, Morro then decided to leave the cafeteria hall since his goons were defeated. I then looked at Nya, staring into her Ocean blue eyes as she was studying my injuries.
(Nya's POV)
I had knocked out both of Morro's friends and watched as Morro scattered off, I then turned my attentional Jay, who looked really badly injured.
Jay has a black eye, a bleeding nose and had bruises all over his arms and legs. I stared a Jay, looking into his eyes for about 15 second until things got awkward and I then said to him.
"Thank you so much Jay for protecting me, but why me?" Jay then looked at me, a bit shocked at what I said, but I was telling the truth. Why would Jay protect someone like me.
Jay then said. "You didn't deserved what was going to happen to you, you didn't do anything wrong apart from spit at Morro. That and..." he was silent for a bit until he started speaking again. "That and because I like you, I mean like like you" I then stood there, looking into his eyes again, trying to act chill about it but my mind was going crazy, I then said to Jay. "Really, I like like you to" I say to him then giving a small giggle.
Jay face beamed up when he heard me say that and said. "S-So Uh N-Nya do you Uh want t-to be m-my Uh-" I then stopped him by pressing my lips against his. We then pulled away and he looked at me, red as ever and staring at me in aw and said to me. "S-So is t-that a y-yes?" I then smiled at him and said to him. "Of course it is Jay, I'd be pleased to be your Girlfriend" He then gave me a massive hug as he pulled me in for a kiss as well.
(Jay's POV)
"S-So Uh N-Nya do you Uh want t-to be m-my Uh-" I was then stopped when Nya pressed her lips against mine. My first kiss, I never wanted it to end but I knew that it had to, we pulled away and I said to her "S-So is t-that a y-yes?" She then gave me a smile and said. "Of course it is Jay, I'd be pleased to be you Girlfriend" I was absolutely ecstatic when she said that so gave her a massive hug in celebration and then pulled her in for a kiss.
I made my promise to Kai. I protected Nya, and I intend to keep that promise for as long as I can, as long as I'm still here in this world, nothing will harm my Water Lily.
