Upon waking up, Douglas jumped out of bed to Theo's hut, as he had been instructed the night before. When he reached the hut, he was surprised to find it was empty. Where the heck was Theo? He was never awake this early!

Quickly, Douglas headed towards Patrick's hut. Everything around him was quiet, there was no one out, and he did not see a single worker in the fields, or James up on the lookout with his bullhorn to announce the mornings's coming over night.

Douglas threw open the door to Patrick's hut. As soon as his foot stepped in the room, a knife was put on the back of his throat, and he heard John's voice behind him. "Did you really think, Patrick, that you could get you guys out of here? Out of this hellhole? You could not possibly have thought that I was possibly that stupid, could you have?" John's voice was shaky, and fear was evident. Douglas couldn't figure out why. Looking around, he saw Theo chained up on a wall, a spear aimed at his chest, and another boy, Castor, chained up on a wall, spear also aimed at his chest. How pleasant.

Then Patrick appeared, holding a sword, with bloodshot eyes, and a fierce look in his face. "John, give it up."

John's was shaking, and his hands were cold. Douglas was terrified.

"Patrick, take me. Or we will all follow. Or perhaps, we won't let you you go." John pointed at Castor, and the guy guarding him threw the spear in his chest.

Patrick grimaced, but seemed to know it was coming. He rolled over on the ground next to the guard who had just speared Castor, and pulled the spear out of his hand. Running, he stuck it in the ground, and literally jumped over John, landing behind him.

John threw Douglas around, looking towards where Patrick was standing. He held the sword closer to Douglas's throat.

"John, I am only going to say this once. I'm sorry. I know it's your fault, and I know you should be sorry, but still, I am going to apologize. Now, let Douglas go, if not, I'm getting Benjamin." Right when Benjamin's name was spoken, you heard Theo's guard drop to the ground, the spear clattering against the floor. Benjamin stood there, with Theo, who had just escaped. Picking up the spear, he stuck it in the ground. "John, either you die, or you let us go. Fair?"

John dropped the knife, and grinned. "Go ahead, Patrick. I see that if I'm not enough for you, you go off and find new prey. Go ahead, have fun dying. We'll follow you. And we aren't going to die. I won't let you be the hero Patrick. You're a fraud."
